Is there a way to tell if your Algo is indeed on? Maybe within Tradovate or Tradingview?

I am attempting to run the algo with conservative settings and it took a trade using 10 contracts and got stopped out within milliseconds. Down -$471 today so far. I figured I better turn off the algo and regroup. Also, is there a way to run it on a simulator so I don't blow accounts while trying to figure it out.
