I absolutely agree with Jeffrey Gitomer above: People don't like to be "SOLD", but they like to BUY according to their specific needs. When we as business owners discover their needs, and focus on meeting those needs, people WILL buy!

Thanks Paul. Over the years I've used the concept of "Social Styles," as described by the following: Tony Alessandra, Ph.D. in Non-Manipulative Selling; Taylor Hartman, Ph.D. in The Color Code; Phillip Hunsaker, Ph.D. in The Art of Managing People; Bob & Sue Payne, in Understanding Social Styles (lecture at International Networking Association), and several others. The four social styles described in these works are parallel to the personality styles described in DISC. They are: Driver, Analytical, Expressive, and Amiable.

Peace of mind and a tranquil environment, free from turmoil and contention, are invaluable. While life inevitably brings challenges and hardships, contention doesn’t have to be part of the equation. Even when others around you are contentious, you can choose not to be. No matter the difficulties you face or the chaos around you, peace of mind is attainable through a strong inner constitution, mental resilience, and a deep sense of self-acceptance.

I agree wholeheartedly with Sharon. Who we are and who we become is based to a large degree on our correct choices. I've always found that contention is usually avoided when our choices result in positive and productive consequences.
