Opus Clip - AI Tool for turning long videos into shorts
Hey everyone! 👋 Just curious - has anyone here used Opus Clip for their videos? I’ve been checking it out and it’s pretty cool if you want to easily pull short vertical videos out of your long form videos. Basically it’s an AI tool that takes your long-form videos and automatically chops them into short clips for YouTube Shorts, TikTok, Instagram Reels, etc. Some handy features: ∙ Uses AI to find the most engaging moments in your videos ∙ Auto-adds captions (which is huge for social media) ∙ Lets you customize the clips with different layouts and branding ∙ Gives each clip a “virality score” to help you pick the best ones ∙ Saves a ton of time vs manually editing short clips Anyone tried it? Would love to hear your thoughts!

I have heard about it but have not tried it.

Are you up for a challenge? Hopefully this is an easy one. Think of 5 ideas for a video you would like to make, and post them below. They don’t have to have titles or thumbnails or scripts yet. Just the idea/concept! If you need help thinking of something, watch this video

My overall plan is a mix of pro level videos and casual style videos using my webcam, phone, or the camera that I have. My first 5 that I am planning... pro level intro video introducing my YT channel pro level, interview style about the coaching/mentoring program that I'm developing casual style video video talking about my program casual style video with tips about getting new clients casual style video, screen recording or voiceover about digital products that I'm going to add to my community. overall it will be more casual style videos with trainings If I can build up a following or connection I'd like some collaborations on video podcasts or just start my own to get started. I have way more planned than time.

🙋‍♂️ Which creators on YouTube inspired you to start your YouTube channel?
For me, it was Ali Abdaal, Sean Cannel, and Alex Hormozi. I’ve watched hundreds of hours of content from these 3 creators. Who inspired/inspires you?

Right now I'm consuming a lot of Chris Do. A self proclaimed introvert that is killing it.

@Woody Hill sounds pretty good. I'm still learning Canva. Will this work on the free Canva or are we upgrading?
What is your “Why”?
WHY do you want to start a YouTube channel? What does SUCCESS look like to you? For me it’s a few things: I really enjoy teaching. I love the feeling of seeing someone else have an aha moment when they learn a new concept or gain a new understanding. I also aspire to earn enough from YouTube and YouTube-adjacent activities that I don’t need to keep a 9-5 job. Maybe the real thing I’m looking for here is time freedom and location freedom. Lastly, it’s turned out to be a really great creative outlet. I love writing, which I get to do when creating scripts or talking points. I enjoy graphic design which goes into making thumbnails and some graphics used in the videos themselves. I enjoy performing (I was a musician in a past life) and being on camera scratches that itch. Even editing can be enjoyable when I get into a groove! What’s your “Why”?
