Please roast my homepage
I'd love to know if it's clear from my homepage what I offer my clients. Do you think I need more detail on the homepage? Also, do I do a good enough job of building trust? https://zenafreelancewriter.com/ Thanks in advance!

@Zena Ryder Your home page is clean, neat, serviceable. 📌 I agree with those who said it is a little busy. Move the five brand graphics from near the top and put them with the other five near the bottom; maybe a single line that scrolls. 📌 Fonts are fine, so maybe you changed them. 📌 Definitely change the graphic testimonials to text (like the one for Charlie Wardell). This has strong SEO and UX considerations. Eben Pagan, a top online presence marketing consultant speaks of three critical questions your wbsite must answer in the first five seconds. Your website meets this test: 1️ Who is it? Zena Ryder - Content Marketing Strategist & Writer 2️ What's it about? Turn(ing) your under-performing construction or construction technology website into a valuable lead-generating asset 3️ What do I get? (A) marketing pipeline flowing with an abundance of qualified leads — who are attracted by content that helps them understand how you can solve their problems better than your competitors can. There is more, but I charge for the rest. 😉 😁 🐰

@Zena Ryder, you can create a scrolling row of small images on a Squarespace website. This is a very popular design choice for showing off logos, digital products, or small photos without making the page too long. By choice I am a WordPress guy, used to having these auto-scrolling carousels built right into the system! However, I am familiar with most of the available sitebuilder platforms. Squarespace is a little more rigid, but highly workable. There are a couple of ways to achieve this. If you want to DM me (giving me permission) I will send you instructions to accomplish this.
What community would you build now...
if you were being paid to do it? The only catch is that it would need to make 1k MRR in 3 months. Otherwise you loose the job. You're the one responsible to manage it, choose what it is about and make it work. But advertizing, fees and tech stack would all be covered by the employer. If you already have a community, what would you do differently than what you're doing now?

@Paulo Costa, The Roaster I am building two. Plenty for now! Skool Cafeteria; for creators, coaches, and solopreneurs who want a curated, practical repository of courses, content, and tools they can use to move forward with clarity. Your Pathway To Growth; for experienced adults seeking a calmer, supportive space to gain clarity, steady direction, and meaningful progress without pressure or noise.
New premium perk: Promote your skool affiliate links!
Do you want to get people to sign up to skool with you? Or get your affiliate links out there, so once people click on it, if they create a community with it you get a comission? Now you can use this community to do that, if you're premium! Skool has a great affiliate program, and just by leaving your links out there you can get people to sign up to your community. I got five paid referrals at the moment and 3 of them weren't even aware they signed up with my link. That is enough referrals to pay for my 2 skool commmunties and will increase by ten times by each one that upgrades to pro! Since this community is public, your posts will be searcheable on google, wich means you can have your links all over the place. Here are the ways you can do it: - If you're roasting someone who doens't have a skool community you can sugest they start one by giving an idea on how they could make it work giving their niche. While doing it you can provide your referral link. You can also do that if you see the possibility of them having a second community that would make senses for them. Like a separate space for a more exclusive group of members. - You can provide a community idea for people to roast, like the one I gave on this post. While doing that, you can link put referral link at the top. And to make people more eager to do it, you can provide perks for those who use it. Like in my case, I provide a free consulting call to set it up, a free premium access to this community and also free VIP if they create a pro community right away. On top of that, my ideas and yours (if they are good) will be organized and categorizes in the classroom, so people will always be able to find your links. - If you're a VIP, you can also have classroom content that teaches people how to use a Skool. That classroom content can have your referral link!

@Paulo Costa, The Roaster Interesting you posted this today. Earlier I shared a post (elsewhere) about affiliate links. I will share it here as it might be helpful to people who take you up on what you are sharing" 📌 Affiliate Links Are Not A Trivial Thing In the U.S. an affiliate disclaimer is required by law. That includes posts with affiliate links to Skool communities. As of January 2026, the maximum per-violation fine is in excess of $50,000. For more detail on this see the Legal & Ethics section of the Skool Cafeteria "Members' Private Blog" in the Classroom. Standard membership is free. https://www.skool.com/skool-cafeteria-3864
