Did something out of my comfort zone!
Today, I’ve decide to do my 30 day communication challenge on TikTok and post so I can expose myself to a different environment. Even though I already do post on there, I never showed them the side where I’m struggling to communicate and articulate myself. To be honest, it was so hard to hit post on that video, even though posting is usually second nature to me. Said all this to say I’m proud of my self for getting out of my comfort zone and if you’re reading this do something that gets you out of your comfort zone it can be anything.

@Muzdalifah Hassan Thank you muzdhalifa you’re soo kind. I would say go for it, one thing I realized about posting on social media is that people actually don’t care that much, but we overthink about it way too much. If this journey I’m taking can inspire you to put yourself out there, and not be afraid then I would say do it. You’ll never get over the fear of being perceived and rejected unless you just expose yourself to it. I know it might be hard at first especially for your town home to see you putting yourself out there, but you’re doing it for you and not them.We got this habibty day by day bit by bit as long as we’re moving we’re succeeding 🫶🏾💐
Question!
Before I head to bed I had one question that keeps lingering in my mind .Anyone who has the knowledge on this topic can answer. Why is it that some great writers or just regular people who know how to articulate and express themselves through writing aren’t like that when speaking. Their mind to muscle connection is off and they have a lot to say but just don’t know how to say it. Could it be that they’re poor communicators or that they haven’t exposed themselves enough to build that muscle to mind connection. I’m going to put myself in the spotlight and say that’s how I feel. When it comes to writing, I know how to express myself fully but the opposite is true about speaking . My siblings always tell me, you sound clear, concise and to the point when writing but completely different when speaking. I would love to hear any opinions on this and whether some could relate.

@Ahmed Dino Thank you Ahmed!! - that makes perfect sense. When I’m writing I don’t fear judgment or think about people’s perceptions. However, when I’m put in situations where all eyes on me , it feels that I have to filter myself, watch what I say and perform because I don’t want to be perceived as an air head. I’ll keep putting in those reps and who knows inshaAllah next time I might just expose myself to big social gathering and let myself just experience it.

@Yahya O Thank you Yahya for your feedback. Honestly yah my problem is, I second guess my self a lot. Maybe I just need to be more present in the moment breathe and take pauses like you said. I’ll definitely try implementing some of your techniques and inshallah we’ll see how it goes.

@Ahmed Dino Thank you Ahmed! I’ll definitely keep that in mind for the next challenge insha Allah , I was overthinking too much on what to say and how to say it, that it made forget about the delivery, it sounded more staged then natural but I’ll definitely work on that.

Rewrite your identity
Today I went through the video about rewriting your identity. Where your thoughts come from emotions, and the emotions stem from the story you tell yourself, which ends ups becoming your identity. Upon completing the video, I decided to self-reflect on what stories I’ve been telling myself. What stories are shaping my identity, emotions and thoughts. I went through a list; goals, love, money and social anxiety. I asked myself what stories have you been telling yourself in each section, what kind of emotions do you get after hearing that story and what thoughts stem from that emotion. To summarize, this reflection of rewriting your identity helped me see where I need to improve on, and if you’re reading this and you haven’t tried reflecting on what stories you’re telling yourself I would highly recommend it , you’ll feel refreshed and have epiphanies regarding your own life.
