Thoughts?

This one made me pause. Listening with a producer ear, the phrasing and dynamics feel very classical, even though it sits in a jazz space. It feels “intentional”. I’m always drawn to music that lives in that gray area or the spaces in between. I picked up my other instrument

In our last meeting, @Kosine Palacios told us to practice our instrument. I play multiple instruments, however, I have not picked up my trumpet in almost 3 years. Today was my first day! I’m very rusty but it’ll come back like muscle memory with consistent practice. I wanted to test my ear and play randomly to a beat that I’ve been working on. I also ordered a brand new trumpet with 3 mouthpieces and valve guard (impulsive buy, but I’ve worked my a$$$$$$$ off & I never buy myself anything)

The Sunken Place

Yesterday's live was much needed for the space that I'm currently in. I dont like it but it's life. Words aren't always going to flow how I want them but when I need them. A friend told me to write, write, and write. Sometimes, you gotta take a step back and listen to something in your catalog, look in the mirror and tell yourself who the f you are. Boucoup run on sentences I'm sure @Kosine Palacios but its one of my faves...lol *currently looking for a groupon piano class*

Flatline

I just sang this into suno playing around with this writer's block 🤣🤣🤣, wrote it out just in case it was gonna trip over the audio, and told it to give me a male vocal though and this is what it spit out for me. Pray for me.

It so weird to say it but the part I love the most is the "beeeep flatline" and here's why . . . it's my opinion that the magic of creating a song is in the raw places, the beginning when it's just an idea and a feeling. That's what I felt immediately listening to the first version. Pure, not forced, and honest. TBH, I don't think I'm going to listen to the second because it's the first version for me. 💫💫💫 Lastly, I couldn't help but think if she is able to put together something like this with just her voice, imagine the magic that would come through if she had a piano or a guitar. ☺️ Thank you for inviting us into your process. I hope you'll share more audios like this one. 💜
