Heal my mind first
I never imagined that this type of meditating could truly help me. Negative emotions and memories are consistently overwhelming me but this has really helped to regulate.......now have to work on these darn nightmares! But it could always be worse🫤

Ayla's Experience Profound Rest from her Healing Sleep series helped me with some disturbing dreams I'd had.
Coffee nidra ☕️ ?
Every once in a while I like to take a nice "coffee nap". For those who haven't heard of such a thing: https://www.sleepfoundation.org/sleep-hygiene/coffee-nap Anyone tried combining this with a yoga nidra session? I'd be interested to hear your experiences!

🌙 The Paradox of Rest... and Awakening
New piece on Yoga Nidra that's close to my heart... exploring how the deepest transformation from surrendering. READ ARTICLE Weaved in the article is ancient philosophy, my own healing journey through a rare leukemia, and the radical act of rest in our achievement-obsessed culture. I dive into how Yoga Nidra sits at the intersection of Shiva (pure awareness) and Shakti (creative force), and why lying down might be one of the most powerful practices we have. The piece explores: - The myth of Vishnu resting on the cosmic ocean while worlds are born - The Five koshas (Layers of Being) we move through in stillness - How my relationship with Yoga Nidra shifted from fascination to medicine - Why rest reveals both light and shadow... and why we need both One line that kept coming back to me: "To rest in the deepest 'Self', one must first seek. Yet to seek too hard is to miss the rest." I'm curious... SHARE BELOW What resonated with you the most in the article!? Would love to hear your insights. 💫

Love the comparisons of the different traditions and the qualities they represent in YN practice.
neurodivergence - "you are not something that needs to be fixed, you are only something that needs to be understood."
I came across this Instagram post that resonated very deeply 🍂✨ “I have this core belief that if we used nature to describe ourselves again we would be so much better off. Instead of saying “she has ADHD, we could just say “oh she carries the spirit of the wind” Or if you’re emotionally unstable, we could say “oh she carries the sprit of the ocean” Or maybe you’re an introvert and we could say “oh she carries the spirit of the oak, she just likes to observe.” If you’re anxious, we could say “oh she carries the spirit of the bird, she sees the things we don’t” Or maybe if we’re depressed we could say “oh we carry the spirit of the stars, we like to sit in the dark because it’s where we see the most” When you start to describe yourself this way, you will understand that you are not something that needs to be fixed, you are only something that needs to be understood. We don’t look at the trees and expect the trees to act like the ocean, or expect the ocean to act like the birds. They all have their own qualities and they all are the way that they are because they serve a purpose. And you serve a purpose as well, exactly as you are right now."
