DISCUSSION 🚨 Are we training players… or just entertaining them?
Now i want everybody to really take a second & Be honest with yourself… Yes A lot of sessions LOOK good: - Fancy cone drills - Crazy combo moves - Nonstop movement …but how much of that actually shows up & translates in a real game? I’ve been thinking about this heavy lately. There’s a difference between: Players leaving a session tired vs Players leaving a session actually BETTER So here is my real question: How do YOU make sure your workouts translate to real game situations? Is it: - Small-sided games? - Constraints? - Live reads? - Film work? - Something else? Or do you feel like most trainers (be honest) are just running workouts that look good on camera? šŸ‘‡ Drop your thoughts — and if you disagree with something in here, even better… let’s talk about it.

I’ll kick start it. For me, I’ve been moving away from over-complicated drills and focusing more on live situations where players have to actually make decisions. That’s where I’ve seen the biggest improvement.

@Daniel Cooper I’m Coming for it !šŸ¤
šŸ”„ DISCUSSION: What’s ONE thing you stopped doing as a trainer that actually made your players better?
If you’re here, it’s because you’re trying to level up — not just run drills. So let’s talk real for a second… A lot of trainers think doing more = better results. More drills. More moves. More combos. But in my experience… Some of the biggest growth came from what I CUT OUT of my sessions. For me: I stopped overloading players with moves and started focusing on game-real reads + decision making. Less ā€œcone workā€ā€¦ more live reactions. And the results? Way better transfer to games. šŸ‘€ So I’m curious… What’s ONE thing you used to do as a trainer that you either: - Completely removed - Or changed your approach on …and it actually made your players improve faster? šŸ‘‡ Drop it below — could be: - A drill you stopped using - A mistake you realized - Something you used to overemphasize Let’s build a thread that actually helps everyone sharpen their craft.
Using your off-hand the right way!
What are some drills or techniques to teach a player how to use their off hand properly & effectively?

@Daniel Cooper I like to tell my athletes if it’s sloppy that means your WORKING
Question
How do you structure a workout for a player wanting to become an elite dribble attacker?
3 likes • 17d
Depends on what exactly you trying to work on if it’s finishing as in whatchu you mean for attacker or attack and elite dribble to break and get through press defenses if needed ? Well I’ll give you drills for either or 1. if you referring to dribble and attack to finish than you can have one on ones max dribbles 4 having to score in the paint only! 2. If your referring to attack a press defenses and have elite dribbles to attack and break press defenses or an on ball defender you can have a defender press the ball handler and have the defender force the ball handler to keep changing his directions have him do that full court baseline to baseline .
