Making use of prep time
Wondering if anyone else struggles with using their prep time effectively? If it's later in the day, I find I am so exhausted I usually take the time to just stare at the wall haha

My prep time is all over the place. Different times daily. Schedule changes are coming for next year so I'm just rolling with it.
Fun
Valentine's Day special: Most inappropriate wedding songs? Not like having swears, or stuff. For example: my wife wanted to include "I will Survive". I had to put a veto on that.

Low hanging fruit, but I'll go with "Before He Cheats" Carrie Underwood. 😬
Sound Before Sight.......
What's your philosophy on reading music right away vs. sound before sight?

I hear you. Asking kids to learn to read notation and learn an instrument at the same time can be a big ask if they are having trouble relating to the music as a human.

Build off of what the know. 👍🏻
Growth
I am really happy with our growth to 10. Your help is appreciated! I added one "class" as an experiment and hope to add some more soon. I only hope to recoup cost of forum. Ideas welcome.

@Brandt Schneider I'm in the same boat. My community has 5. It's hard to grow when it feels like you're talking to yourself and some people will only join if they see big numbers for members. It's almost like member numbers are a referral.
Musicians
Who is one musician you think all students should be able to recognize in an aural test? Who should we be teaching?

If you're going to go John Williams, who I actually enjoy and associate with films since I was young, you should also include Stravinsky and Tchaikovsky.
