Today I did something I thought I'd never be able to do, ride a different horse. My friend has been having confidence issues with her new horse and she said I could ride him as lemy is out of action at the moment. To my suprise I said yes without a second thought. OMG what a lovely lad he is, I had no anxiety at all and thoroughly enjoyed my lesson. I'm beaming from ear to ear, the people who know me well will know how much of a big thing this was for me.

Anyone have any ideas on how I can help my friend, she has just bought a new horse 17h Irish draft. He seemed perfect but she's had a couple of incidents that has made her really anxious about riding him, to the point where she doesn't want to get on him. I've been making her ride him just for short hacks of about 25 minutes but she won't even trot him. I've been through the same thing so I know how she feels but I'm giving her all the support I can and so is the yard owner. I just don't know what else to do , she is normally a very competent rider.

I did something today I haven't done for 2 years, Lemy and I went out for a ride on our own. It was such a lovely day and I've had a horrendous start to the week , I felt as though we needed some time out. He was such a good boy and I came back with a smile on my face
