Not crocheting?
Happy May Day! The sun is shining in N Yorkshire and we are putting up our greenhouse. The frame is up and this afternoon we will be putting in the glass. Is it sunny where you are? What was your last major project? How did it go?

Crochet Art books
Most How to crochet books will get straight in to showing you the traditional stitches and you will likely have a go at making a dish cloth swatch. My most recent book which is “ Two Stitch Crochet Art “ is the most up to date. I wish I had the energy to make another book about “How to Cordcrochet” but It would give me severe brain ache. Making videos is so much easier, especially Now that I have a proper craft room. I have had craft rooms on a narrowboat, hay wagon, a bus a safari caravan, a static home and even on a boat in Australia! Now I make videos in a house! The two stitches I teach first are chain and slip stitch, then a flower. I also have a mixed media approach , so adding stitcky gems ( and bees and lady birds too) Adds a fun element instead of heaps of practice, I prefer wonky to straight edges. We don’t follow patterns, we experiment with hook and yarn and make it up as we go. I just spent an hour playing with cordcrochet. No rules.

Pet roll call?
Our pets are a huge part of our families and I know some of you voted for some community posts to be about us and not just about me and my crochet passions! When I met Phil he was known as Phil Two Dogs! Sadly Gemma and Sally are long gone but we have some lovely memories and photos to remind us of our little extended family. If you or your family have a pet or memorable photos, do post them here and tell us something about them that will make us all smile. Unfortunately photos of the dogs are archived somewhere on my laptop. Here on my iPad I have photos of our more recent family on the land. We had cows, and from the start we had Buttercup Our jersey cow…. We later had red a few red polls and Leroy who was Buttercups first calf. But Buttercup was by far our family pet. So many stories there! Never having milked a cow before!!
