Devotional - âCreated for Connectionâ
âI have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.â â Jeremiah 31:3 âGod is faithful, who has called you into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.â â 1 Corinthians 1:9 From the very beginning, Godâs plan has always been relationship, not religion. He walked with Adam and Eve in the garden. He called Abraham His friend. Through Jesus, He made the way for us to be reconciled and restored to Himself forever. God doesnât just want us to believe in Him from a distanceâHe desires closeness, intimacy, and fellowship with His children. When we draw near to Him, we discover that He is already near. His plan is not based on our performance but on His love, grace, and faithfulness. Relationship with Him is both the foundation and the fulfillment of our purpose. 1. Set aside intentional time each day to nurture your relationship with Godânot just in prayer requests, but in conversation, listening, and gratitude. 2. Consider how you might be treating faith more like a checklist of duties than an ongoing relationship. Take one step this week to shift toward intimacy with Him. Journal Reflection Questions 1. What does it mean to me personally that God desires relationship with me, not just obedience from me? 2. In what areas of my life have I kept God at a distance, and how can I invite Him closer? 3. How has God shown His love and faithfulness to me in ways I might have overlooked? Today's Prayer Father, thank You for desiring relationship with me. Thank You for sending Jesus to make the way for me to walk with You daily. Forgive me for the times Iâve treated faith as a duty instead of a relationship. Draw me closer to Your heart. Help me to hear Your voice, to trust Your love, and to live each day in fellowship with You. In Jesusâ name, Amen.
