Lighthouses – or what gives you hope in life?
As I mentioned in the first Q&A call, I’m currently on the North Sea and whenever I’m here I always visit the lighthouse in Campen—the highest land‑built lighthouse in Germany. Why do so many people love lighthouses?I think it’s because of their great and important significance: lighthouses have played a central role in navigation for centuries and have also developed a deep cultural meaning for people. They have been and continue to be fixed points that warn of danger and serve orientation and positioning. Today I want to focus on these two qualities—fixed point and orientation/positioning. Hope arises from understanding the current life situation, ideally from the lesson learned and a clear goal in sight: Where do I see myself? Where do I want to go? That gives me hope, and the lighthouse is a symbol that beautifully embodies this process. Especially at night, when danger and thus fear are greatest, the lighthouse shows us with its light where we stand and warns us of hazards. Its light points us toward a safe path to our goal; because of its prominent position it is visible from far away. This is a nice analogy for a goal: big goals are like a lighthouse—a fixed point in life. I followed Phil’s invitation to join the Skool community because I realized that exchanging ideas with like‑minded people is very important. We are all on a journey and have learned many lessons. A wise man said 4,000 years ago that the royal way is to learn from the mistakes of others. We—myself included—often don’t do this because we don’t want to admit mistakes or we are ashamed of them. So we often buy expensive courses hoping to improve, while a conversation with a friend would often be the more direct route. I look forward to a discussion that lifts us as a group—not over others, but over ourselves, over the “yesterday‑self.” A little better every day. And here’s my call to action 😊: What gives you hope? Sharing = Healing

That is fantastic Rolf! It really encapsulates what a lighthouse is versus what this community can be. It is a great analogy! What gives me hope? Other humans that want other humans to be happy, healthy, and free. Free from suffering, free from oppression, free from tyranny. Whenever I see someone helping others, or themselves, or even just trying to help themselves or others, it gives me hope that we all aren't doomed in the way it looks like when you view the material world. For me, helping is the light of the lighthouse!
Thank you for our "First Q&A Call"!!!
I just want to take a moment to say thank you to all of you who joined our very first Q&A call 🙏😉🌱 It is beautiful to connect, share, and grow together... I really appreciate your openness and the energy you bring into this community. This is only the beginning and I’m excited to see how we continue to support and inspire each other on this journey! With gratitude, Phil 🌱

I had a great time talking about what our ideas were and how we were thinking of implementing and why. So good to get other opinions, ideas, and viewpoints. Rolf and I were talking about a book, I'll put it here in case anyone is interested. In short, it teaches you how to learn large complex things quickly. The author achieved the equivalent of an MIT graduate degree on computer science in just a year... This is the authors website.... Meditating on hard emotions
This morning I was reviewing my tasks for the day and one of them is working on a training course that has been rolling around in my head for a while. During contemplating this I felt the rise of doubt, not knowing how it will turn out or how I will even take the next step, whatever that step could be! I sat feeling this doubt and started to meditate. I fully allowed that doubt to fill all of my consciousness, witnessing how it grew and changed as I watched it, but not reacting, just observing. Then I conjured what for me is the opposite feeling, the feeling of confidence. I sat and let confidence wash over every aspect of consciousness and observed it. I then oscilated between the two, doubt and confidence, witnessing how both could rise and fall within my consciousness. This practice helps us deal with the harder emotions in life and also reminds us of impermanence and that it will surely change as it is experienced. Always feel your emotions, witness them, no need to react. But have the courage to truly feel what you feel in every day and every moment.
