Video challenge this week. Pick your favourite song and play along with a basic beat and implement the techniques Mark so excellently showed us all. What a great teacher he is.
In general, the discussion focused on using: - "rebound" when we want to play accents or loudly, - "tap" when we want to play "ghost notes" or softly, - "caution" is the transition between "rebound" and "tap". However, I have a question about the 18:30 mark in this video. When is "finger technique" used and when is "wrist technique" used? Not as a dry exercise, but where or in which songs do these techniques offer advantages? Would it be possible to record an example? Thank you in advance! π
Here's my attempt at the 6 stroke roll. 2/4, 75 bpm, as a groove (not as a fill) for a German children's song:Β "Hopp, hopp, hopp, Pferdchen lauf Galopp"
