🎉 New Kid on the Block
Hey KDP Publishing fam! 👋 My name is Kisha and I am SO excited to finally be here at level 2 and able to post! 🙌 Here's my story in a nutshell, I can say now that I am a ghostwriter and I am so close to completing my very first book for a client! Let me tell you, the excitement of seeing it come together hit me just as hard as if my name were on the cover! The best part? I negotiated a generous percentage of the sales, so every copy sold is a win for me too! 💰 I won't pretend I have it all figured out, I am very much in learning mode and soaking up everything I can about this publishing world. 😂 Now here's what I really want to know from all you amazing authors who've been on this road before me… 💬 What is ONE thing you wish someone had told you BEFORE you published your first book? Drop it in the comments, I am taking notes and I want ALL the gems! 💎 Looking forward to learning, growing, and connecting with all of you!

@Hannah Janeth Thank you so much Hannah. He is hosting a launch party in NYC. I've also created a waitlist in and have quite a few signup. We are in the process of booking a few podcast and book signings and he will be running some ads. I will definitely take your advice into consideration.
A Book 📖 Builds Your Authority!
You don't need an audience to become an authority. You need a book. A published book on Amazon does something no social media post can do, it signals credibility on its own. People find your book through search, not through your follower count. That means someone with zero social media presence can still be "the person who wrote the book on YOUR NICHE" — literally. And once that authority exists, it opens doors. Speaking gigs, consulting clients, and course buyers want to work with the expert. A book makes you that expert before you've said a single word. Social media builds attention. Books build authority. Both matter, but one of them works while you sleep. People find your book on Amazon, read it, get value from it and then want to work with you more. 👉 What are you going to write your book about? Drop it in the comments!

@Krista Brea Yes, indeed. I have a series of 5 relationship books already done that I finished back in December, but I never went all the way with it. 2026 is going to be great! Now my question to you @Krista Brea I am a multi-talented person. I have my very own credit repair software and have written ebooks for credit repair, improving your score, hacks, etc , I worked in at Amazon for 12.5 years 6 years in HR and want to do a few books on AI in the HR space, and I am a recently certified AI consultant and I teach on Prompting and some of the latest topics. Those topics Do not go together at all, however I want to write on multiple topics. What are your thoughts on an author that has several things to write about?

@Krista Brea Great idea. I certainly didn't think of that. It makes total sense. I will consider that.
#1 New Release
This is a PROUD moment for me to highlight that @Gemma Coles has OFFICIALLY LAUNCHED 🚀 her book 📖 AI FOR BUSY PROFESSIONALS she’s been working closely with me on my VIP tier and actually implemented everything exactly as it was taught, not picking and choosing, not skipping steps, but executing the full strategy from start to finish. And here’s the result… her book already hit #1 New Release in its category. That doesn’t happen by luck. It’s not random. That’s what it looks like when the right strategy meets consistent execution. Most people focus only on “getting the book published,” but the real leverage is in how you launch it. The positioning, the category selection, the early traction, those are the pieces that push a book into visibility fast. Takeaway for your own launch: If you want momentum early, don’t wait until your book is live to start thinking about marketing. Build it into your launch. - Choose categories where ranking is actually achievable - Get early readers lined up before launch day - Drive immediate activity (downloads, clicks, engagement) in those first few days That early window is everything. When you hit it right, Amazon starts working for you instead of you chasing sales after the fact. If you would like to support Gemma, please grab a copy of her book it's only $9.99 on Amazon and I promise you will learn more than a thing or two! (p.s. - I've already ordered my copy and it's on the way 😉)

That is so amazing! Congratulations!!!
From doodles to digital drawing to self publishing 😅!
I was always the one drawing ✍️, from early childhood to this day, at home , in class, getting in trouble for drawing in my notebooks and on my desk 😅! I drew for my home, my friends and family’s gifts, at work, decorated spaces, created crafts… But never allowed myself to believe I was a “real artist “ 👩‍🎨 and I could make money off it. Then last year, I thought “what do I have to lose?!” Apart from money, time and efforts 😆?! So I taught myself digital illustration (thank you YouTube!) and self publishing (thank you KDP but I wish I knew Skool and this group!) and now I have 4 books on Amazon, I sold 113! Two of them are about my other passion: sharing my language and culture 🇫🇷😀! I am so excited to be here and learn more!!

Wow! Going from doodling in notebooks to 4 books on Amazon is the most inspiring thing I've read today Lol And 113 sales as a self-taught artist?! You just gave this brand new member ALL the motivation she needed! Thanks @Johanna Vaudran and Congratulations 😃

How Long Do Amazon Reviews Take to Show Up? 👀📚
This question came from @Gale Bates —and the answer is: it depends. Most Amazon reviews typically go live within 24–72 hours after being submitted. But… sometimes they show up within a day, others it could take over a week!🗓️ If it’s been longer than that, there’s usually a reason 👇 ➡️ Why Your Review Might Not Get Posted Amazon has gotten very strict with reviews, and not all of them make it through. Here are the most common reasons: ⭐Reviewer hasn’t spent enough on Amazon: Amazon requires a minimum spend (usually $50 in the past 12 months) to leave reviews. ⭐Too many reviews in a short time: If someone is reviewing a bunch of products quickly, Amazon may flag it as suspicious activity. ⭐Connection to the author: If Amazon detects a relationship (same household, IP address, etc.), the review may be blocked. ⭐Incentivized reviews: If someone feels like they were “bribed” or required to leave a review, it can get removed. ⭐Content issues: Reviews that are too short, overly promotional, or violate guidelines can be rejected. ⭐New accounts: Brand-new Amazon accounts often have a harder time getting reviews approved. ➡️ What This Means for You as an Author Getting reviews isn’t just about asking...it’s about doing it the right way so they actually stick. A lot of authors think:“I’ll just send my book out and ask for reviews…” …but then wonder why nothing shows up. There’s a strategy behind this if you want consistent, approved reviews that help your book rank and convert. Want More Reviews? Check out my book review workshop, it has some great ideas to boost your reviews!

This is so helpful because I had no idea Amazon was that strict about who can even leave a review! 😮 I will be tuning in to that workshop soon as I have a chance. @Krista Brea
