I love jokes 🤣😅
“I had a joke about my project… but I didn’t want to project it too early.” And yes… there’s a real pronunciation lesson inside it. In English, project changes pronunciation depending on whether it’s a noun or a verb: project (noun) = /ˈprɒdʒekt/Example: I’m working on a new project. project (verb) = /prəˈdʒekt/Example: You need to project your voice. So the spelling stays the same, but the stress changes. That’s one of the reasons pronunciation matters so much: sometimes it’s not the letters that change… it’s the stress, and that changes the whole word. A lot of learners focus only on spelling, but English is full of words like this. Have you noticed other words that change pronunciation like this? Drop one below 👇

🌍 Do Accents Really Matter in English? 🤔
In English, there are many accents…British, American, Australian, and more. So, when we learn pronunciation, how much does accent really matter? Do we need to focus on sounding like a specific accent? Or is it more important to just be clear and understood? Sometimes it feels confusing…Which one should we follow? What do you think? 👇 Do you try to learn a specific accent, or just focus on clear pronunciation?

My goal is to improve my English, not to change my accent. If my pronunciation is clear and my rhythm is good, I’m happy with that.

Quick question for everyone here… I’m guessing most of us (maybe everyone except @Sal Di Giallonardo 😄) are not native English speakers. So I’m curious.... What’s your mother tongue? Drop it in the comments 👇 Let’s see how global this community really is 🌎✨

A lot of English words look the same on paper…but sound different depending on whether they are a noun or a verb. PERmit = nounYou need a permit. perMIT = verbThey don’t permit smoking here. PROduce = nounThis store sells fresh produce. proDUCE = verbThey produce excellent results. PROgress = nounYou’re making real progress. proGRESS = verbYou will proGRESS with daily practice. This is one of the reasons pronunciation matters so much. It is not just about sounding better. It helps you understand the meaning faster and speak more clearly. 👉Now your turn:Have you seen other words like this in English? Drop one in the comments, or write your own sentence with permit, produce, or progress.👇👊
