Something powerful happened at church this Sunday that completely shifted my understanding of what community really means in practice. I met a woman who asked me to pray for her because she saw grace and success in an area of my life where she was seeking breakthrough. After I prayed for her, something clicked—I realized she had grace and success in an area where I was currently struggling. So I asked her to pray for me too. In that moment, it hit me: This is community. Not a hierarchy where some have it all figured out and others don’t. Not a one-way street where we’re either always giving or always receiving. But a beautiful, reciprocal exchange where we each bring our strengths to cover each other’s gaps. We weren’t created for selfish, individual pursuits. We were created for this—to be interwoven, interdependent, and mutually strengthening. Your strength covers my weakness. My grace fills your gap. Together, we rise. This is exactly why I created this Skool community. Not just to teach or to learn, but to build something where we can all bring what we have and receive what we need. For years, I thought spiritual growth was only about prayer, Bible reading, and “trying harder.” And yes, those matter deeply. But here’s what I learned in 20 years of mental health work: Your nervous system affects your spiritual capacity. When you’re carrying unhealed wounds, trauma, or running old survival patterns—your body stays in fight-or-flight mode. And when you’re in survival mode, you can’t receive from God the way He designed. It’s not a spiritual failure. It’s biology + spirit working together.
