First Craft Show
Hi everyone! I’m getting ready for my first elementary school craft show and would love any advice! For those of you who’ve done school or community events before: - What worked best for your table setup? - Any tips on signage or pricing displays? - What kind of pitch or wording helped draw people in? - Anything you wish you knew before your first show? I really appreciate any insight. I’m super excited but also nervous. Thanks so much! 💛

@Harleigh Manske thank you! And maybe I’m showing my age but how does venmo work? Lol

@Harleigh Manske here are some pictures of my set up. I don’t have a colour printer so I can only print in black-and-white. I ended up getting a Square Reader so that I can take card payments. Any pointers I’d be grateful for! I’m now doing two shows-one this Saturday and one next Saturday.
Recurring character?
I’m working on a children’s book series about emotions and would love some input. My first book, Sadness Is Here, is almost ready to be published, and I already have the text written for Anger Is Here and Happiness Is Here. Originally I planned to use a different child in each book, but now I’m wondering if I should keep the same main character across the whole series. I also have an amazing illustrator, which is part of what’s making me pause — if I go with a recurring character and for some reason can’t work with her down the road, I’m not sure how that would affect consistency across the series. For those of you who write or read in this space — what do you think works better? A recurring character or different characters for each story? And has anyone dealt with illustrator changes in a series? Would love to hear your thoughts!

Post Your Free Ebook Promos!
Hey friends! I know I have talked a lot about the importance of free ebook promos and the fact that you should share your free ebook link whenever you can. So I created an entire category thread dedicated to free ebook promos. If you have a free ebook promo, please feel free to post it in the community and share the link. I would love it if we could build this part of the community up, so we can help each other grow! **This will work best if we consistently support each other. So when the time comes that you get to share your free ebook promo, you’ll get downloads and reviews from your peers.
