NKOB - new kid on the block
Hi everyone, Being an enthusiastic traveller I am excited to be part of this group. I grew up in Copenhagen, Denmark and have lived almost half of my life in Germany. Now I live near Heidelberg in southwestern Germany 100 km from the French border and 180 km from the Swiss border. It's a great place with nearby hiking and biking opportunities and plenty of city life offerings. On top there is a micro climate here and it's mostly warmer here and we have less wind and snow than the rest of the republic. My working experience covers seven countries with the most part in the US. To me the intercultural exchange, whether on business trip or vacation, has always been a source of joy and I never understood why it's a hazzle to many people. My travelling has not been all too adventurous and mostly I have spent the night in hotels. Majority of trips has been in Western Europe and the US and has usually been a mix of hiking and city life. Nevertheless I hope that I can give some helpful inspiration on uncenventional travel destinations in Scandinavia, Germany, France and Italy and the Alp region. Below you will find a video from an excursion to the Trollfjord in Norway in a Zodiac boat. In spite of this being in June we were wearing arctic naval survival outfit.

Walking the Camino to Santiago
Hi everyone. Recently I have had numerous people ask me about the Santiago de Compostella in Spain, what my thoughts were about it, and would I recommend it as a travel experience. Absolutely. The camino, any camino is a phenomenal personal experience. I have walked two caminos, the Frances in 2014 and the Portuguese from Porto in 2024 and will walk the Le Puy in France in September 2025. Following my Portuguese camino I posted an article on facebook called " The Portuguese Camino - Why walk it? " adding supporting images. Here is that link. https://www.facebook.com/andrew.wright.79656921/posts/pfbid02LqeexiqnEtifPVyLbHpn1nYAZPkvh5iMveZfZeHj1oxo8BHDYg1GqF6uZvKBc6Qyl In this second link I have created a reel that gives you a feel for what its like walking these beautiful journeys. https://www.facebook.com/reel/1007758854309473 In the third link I have created another reel to give interested travellers an overview of the French camino from Le Puy through to Figeac. https://www.facebook.com/100000130694125/videos/1348263750019692/ Enjoy.
