Hello community! You have probably seen a few posts from me, and I forgot to introduce myself!! 😅😍 I am a native Californian, and I have been living in South Korea (back and forth) since 2004. My family is here: my son, his wife, and two beautiful grandsons. 🥰😍 I am a published author, retired educator, rehabilitation counselor, and world traveler. My life has been a compilation of volunteer work and from the book " The Five Languages of Love,' my love language is 'being of service.' 🥰😇 I am learning to give back to myself in this next chapter of life...and enjoying being present in the moment! 🥰😇 How about you? I look forward to other members' introductions too!! We have some wonderful members, and just the fact that we are all gathered here together...that speaks volumes!! 💝💝

Hello friends! Many of you know our family’s passion for caring for children in Uganda. Today, we wanted to share a little bit about why we do what we do and how we are working to keep our community’s children safe. 💌💌💖💖 Did you know that in Uganda, there are nearly 3 million orphans? It’s a big number, but the reality behind it is even more complex. Surprisingly, about 80% of children in institutional care actually have living family members. Often, it’s poverty or a lack of medical support that leads to families being separated. Why being "Legal" matters to us: You may have heard that the government is currently closing down unlicensed orphanages. While this sounds difficult, it is actually a very good thing! The Ministry is cracking down to stop child trafficking and ensure that every child is in a safe, high-standard environment. Our Promise to You: As a family-run, fully legal operation, we don't just provide a roof; we provide a home. We believe in: ✅ Family First: We work hard to keep kids connected to their relatives whenever possible. ✅ High Standards: We follow every government guideline—from caregiver ratios to health safety—because our kids deserve the best. ✅ Transparency: We are proud to be vetted and licensed, ensuring that every donation goes directly to the children’s well-being.
