Leveling up celebration!
A big congratulations to our members who have been levelling up recently! Congratulations to: - Jan Appleton – Level 4 - Jane Harbison – Level 4 - Glenna James – Level 2 - Judy Lange – Level 2 I dont usually put a lot of emphasis on the leaderboards because life isnt a competition. But every level represents something valuable - asking questions, sharing your projects, helping others, and being an active part of Sewing Boss. This community grows because of members who jump in, encourage each other, and keep learning together. Whether you've just joined or you're working your way through the levels, every contribution makes a difference. Keep the conversations going, share what you're making, ask for help when you need it, and celebrate each other's wins. Before you know it, you'll be seeing your own name in one of these posts! Well done, everyone, and thank you for making this such a supportive place to sew and learn together.

July theme announcement
Drumroll please...... This month we're diving into CASUAL JACKETS. Whether you're making a classic denim jacket, a cosy shacket, a bomber, chore jacket, utility jacket, anorak, or your own take on an everyday layer, this is your chance to build new skills while creating something you'll actually wear. Over the next few weeks we'll work through the project together using the 6-part framework, breaking the process into manageable stages so you can make steady progress without feeling overwhelmed. No matter where you're starting from, jump in, share your plans, and don't be afraid to ask questions. The whole point of Sewing Boss Learning Lab is to learn from each other and raise the standard of our sewing together. Let's make July the month everyone adds an incredible jacket to their handmade wardrobe! Image can be found here

Replay of Module 6 - Finished and Proud
And so our tshirt is complete! In this demo I show you how to sew - a neck band - a neck bind - the hem and what to do with the overlocking tail - and the importance of top stitching and pressing The camera angles are a little different as I was trying the webcam, but I am working on having two cameras so you can see more. I didn't realise the audio was funny while the machine was in use, so thats why my voice cuts out a few times. What can I say, this is a work in progress and I appreciate you all. I do disappear off camera to use the overlocker towards the end, but I promise I do come back 😆

You have such a soft and soothing voice, Debra🥰 Thanks for this video. We do our neckbands differently. I will try doing it your way - I love learning different techniques. That is a cute tank top. It must be much warmer in your corner of the country than ours, if you intend to wear it today. Have a lovely Saturday
In-seam pockets anywhere you like!
After promising to do an in-seam pocket demo in this post here, Ive got it ready for you. I'd love to see how you go, and if this is how you'd do yours.

@Debra Verrall so many of the wedding dresses these days have pockets, so no, I hadn't been asked until 2 days ago. This particular bride is a diabetic so needs a pocket for her phone and her dress doesn't have pockets.

Just for fun, copy and pop your answers below. Lets see what funny quirks and habits we can find. Woven or Knit? Natural Fibers (Linen/Cotton) or Synthetics (Polyester/Nylon)? Solids or Prints? Rigid Denim or Stretch Denim? Silky Rayon or Structured Canvas? Bold Prints or Subtle Textures?

Sewing is in my blood. My Mum taught me when I was very young and I have been sewing ever since.
