When Your Brain Has Too Many Tabs Open, No Productivity Hack Will Save You
Oh, the magic of serendipity! It's those moments when something occurs by chance that, if you’re paying attention, is incredibly beneficial. My email inbox is historically not a place where fortunate strokes of serendipity occur, however about 3 weeks ago, a great solution to my growing sense of overwhelm fell into my lap. My to-do list had been growing completely out of control. I was racing from one task to the next, not feeling or seeing much progress. My brain was constantly reminding me of the next thing, the unfinished tasks, and how far behind I was. Sleep was becoming an issue. Yeah, I was totally overwhelmed. And like magic, there was the solution. Right there in my inbox. A newsletter from Dicky Bush describing exactly what I was experiencing. He nailed my problem: too many open loops in my brain. “Every open loop is like a browser tab quietly running in the background. You might not see it, but it’s constantly draining mental battery. Keep too many of them open and your brain starts operating far below its capacity.” After I went through his 7 steps for closing open loops, the overwhelm was gone. I had a sense of peace. I had clarity. I had a plan. I now use the process every Friday as part of my weekly reflection and next week’s planning time block. I can’t express how helpful it’s been and continues to be. So here’s a bit of serendipitous magic from my inbox that I’m sharing with your inbox. I hope you find it as helpful as I have. Thank you, Dicky Bush! Quick question @Ryan Henson , after going through the loop closing process and listing them all out, do you feel you were able to then close some of them out?

⚠️ TAKE 2 MINUTES TO READ THIS POST SO YOU KNOW HOW TO GET THE MOST OUT OF THIS COMMUNITY ⚠️ Welcome to the Career Flō Collective — I’m so glad you’re here. If you’re joining us, you’re probably at a point in your career where you’re ready for something more. More clarity. More confidence. More peace. You might be feeling stuck, overlooked, or uncertain about what’s next. You’re not alone, and that’s exactly why this community exists. What We Do We help high-achieving professionals and leaders: • Make successful career transitions that rebuild confidence and reignite a sense of purpose • Clarify their direction and redefine success on their own terms • Develop leadership presence and executive resilience • Create careers that feel purposeful, sustainable, and fulfilling Our goal isn’t just to help you change jobs. It’s to help you create career peace, that state where your work, values, and energy finally align. Less struggle more Flō! Why Listen to Me? I don’t have all the answers. But I’ve walked this road myself — and I’ve coached hundreds of professionals through it too. - Helped clients go from “invisible” to indispensable in their organizations - Guided mid-career professionals into leadership roles after months (or years) of feeling stuck - Supported career changers through pivots they once thought were impossible - Helped burned-out leaders recover confidence, purpose, and fulfillment in their work What I’ve learned over the years is simple: When you stop trying to fix yourself and start building from who you truly are, everything changes. That’s what this space is about — rebuilding confidence, direction, and fulfillment from the inside out. How This Community Works This isn’t just a forum. It’s a practice ground; a place to connect, share, and grow alongside others who get it. You’ll find: • Resources to help you navigate career transitions and build lasting success, fulfillment, and resilience • Coaching insights to strengthen confidence

This Completely Changed How I Think About AI and My Job
Wow… this article genuinely shifted how I’m thinking about AI and work. There’s so much fear right now around “AI taking jobs.” This gave me a completely different lens, and honestly, a sense of control. Instead of asking “Will AI take my job?” It reframes it to: “Which parts of my job is AI coming for?” That’s a big shift. Here were a few key takeaways that stood out to me: - Your job title isn’t what’s at risk; your tasks are - Not all work is equal (some is already replaceable, some isn’t) - The “3 bucket framework” helps you actually see where you stand - If too much of your work is repetitive → you’re exposed - If you’re not building human skills → you’re vulnerable - The goal is to move toward work that AI can’t replicate And the part I loved most… It actually gives you something to DO with this. (Not just more anxiety) This is one of those short reads that can genuinely shift how you think about your career. I highly recommend you take a few minutes to READ IT HERE. Quick gut check: Which bucket are YOU in right now? 1. Mostly repetitive work 2. Mixed 3. Mostly human/creative work Comment 1, 2, or 3 👇 Bonus: What’s ONE task you do regularly that AI could probably replace? Hot take: AI isn’t replacing people…It’s exposing people who never built real skills. If you’re already using AI in your workflow, drop ONE way it’s helped you 👇 Let’s actually break this down together.
