I recently enrolled for Banking for Sofi. Reason to enroll in longterm Sofi has 2% Cash Back Credit cards with no FTF. This is highest benefit I can think with no FTF credit card (all transaction). I am not yet enrollled to CC but journey starts. Some Key Highlights - Call Customer and update your profile before applying the bank account . US Address / SSN OR ITIN / Non residential status / US Phone number are key requirements. They do early warning check so its important to note. I was rejected in Dec 2025 once - They did not aks for Address proof or any other document as part account opening. - US IP address with stricly (no VPN) , I used Redpocket IP mobile data. - After account was opened I changed my mailing address (only mailing address not legal address) to pvt US mailing address. - They have despatched Debit card to my Mailing address. (edit : They despatched the debit card to Permanent / Legal address ) - Excellent App. I will fund now through ACH from other banks which are connected - Transunioin Score is visible. - I can see balance (incl Credit card transactions) from other banks like AMEX , CAP1 and BOFA. A wholesome decent dashboard which gives entire cash available in all banks. - I have submitted W8BEN and status is non resident alien (from taxation point of view as they will raise 1042S instead of 1099 INT now) but they donot allow foreign addres on profile (which was part of W8BEN) as BOFA does. - If any one can suggest easy Sign up bonus method, I donot have LLC's / Business account. Update 06/22/2026 : 1. They donot have any rush service to despatch Debit cards to mailing address. 2. I am using Sofi Plus and mantain USD 20k to receive 4.5% APY . Highest in industry effective APY 3.9%. Sort of emergency fund. BEST PART THIS MUST BE ONLY BANK WHICH HAS THIS APY and ACCEPTS W8BEN. nothing else. 3. I Created joint account with my spouse and ths joint account is common to both profile login. very easy to create. easy sharing. 4. Applied for CC rejected - main reason history. will apply after 3 month. They consider more than year old credit card history. 5. Uses Microsoft authenticator at login no SMS based OTP. All logins till date without VPN from country of residence. no issues. 6. They have instant transfer feature..expensive but good replacment to Wire.

For DP, it's same data points as the Amex BCE & approval were same day, hours apart. Credit file is 3 months old Surprisingly, no additional documentation has been requested yet and it's been 12hrs since approval. I was kind of hoping for $2500 starting limit Welcome offer is 0% APR for 15 months & miles match in the first 12 months of card use i.e miles accumulated in the first year would be 2x by Discover and it's unlimited P.S. C1 Platinum ($500 starting limit) was my first card & was closed by C1 same week of approval. C1 won't let me create a new account so it linked this new card to the first account to manage under one roof. Fingers crossed with this (as it's managed by C1) & if it gets closed too.. we move on lol

My Capital One credit card was restricted because of some transactions that needed to be verified by their fraud department. I was sent a link to upload a US issued ID. Even though I explained to the agent that I don't have a US issued ID, the agent told me that, in order to complete the verification with a passport, I first needed to upload my passport through that link. They told me that I would receive a call within 3 days and that a supervisor would send me a separate link during the call to upload my passport in real time i was reassured that this can be solved without US id I received a call today from a supervisor and was asked to reupload my passport on call and then it was reviewed during the call, then the agent removed the restriction on my card. so it looks like it is possible to still bypass capital one's us id requirement they still have a way to remove the restrictions on your account
