I know we spend most of the year complaining about the rain….but this is too much……I feel like I’m melting!!!!….. Finn’s school has just announced they’re closing at midday tomorrow because it’s too hot to stay open….. I get it and I agree but, the timing couldn’t be worse because his end-of-year exams were starting tomorrow and they’ve had to cancel all the afternoon exams for the rest of the week!!! I honestly don’t know whether this is peak UK or not 🤣😩🙈….. A few weeks ago we were all moaning it wouldn’t stop raining….. now schools are shutting because everyone’s melting!!!! I’m not coping well with this heat at all. The fan is basically just blowing hot air around the room, I’ve got every window open and I’m still sat here feeling like a roast chicken.….. Please tell me it’s not just me suffering because everyone on my social media seems to be having the time of their lives in beer gardens and I’m questioning whether we’re all experiencing the same weather…….I'm currently lay on puppy cooling mats that have been in the freezer all day & I still don’t feel like I’m cooling down 🤣🥵🥵🥵🥵

Well… today’s update isn’t quite the one I was expecting….After getting a call yesterday to say there had been a cancellation and they could fit me in today, I spent yesterday evening running around like a headless chicken getting everything sorted. I told work I’d be disappearing with barely 12 hours notice….. got all my ducks in a row, and arrived at the hospital at 6am this morning. I’ve been sat there ever since….. Nil by mouth…..Hungry. …. Nervous….. Ready to finally get this surgery done and hopefully put an end to all the stomach issues. And then they have just come to tell me they don’t have time to do it after all because some of the earlier surgeries have overrun.So, that’s that…… Back onto the waiting list I go. I know none of this is the staff’s fault, and I know emergencies and unexpected complications happen, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t gutted, angry, frustrated & just exhausted with it all. It’s not just the wasted day, it’s the emotional rollercoaster of hyping myself up mentally for surgery and then having the rug pulled from underneath me!!!!! Right now I’m frustrated, upset, exhausted and a bit fed up!!!!! Anyway… if anyone needs me, I’ll be around now until the next time they decide to call me and book me in again!!!

I’ve been in Nice for a day en route to NYC for the ACM Professional Development board meeting on Thursday. I’ll be travelling most of the day tomorrow. I know @Cigdem Sengul and @Fawzia Zehra Kara-Isitt are connected to ACM, anyone else? Nice is such a lovely place to visit, has anyone else been here? It’s great that Leah has finished her degree now so can travel with me ❤️
