Rooting from tree branch
https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1ED8LpZXw9/ https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1AfF9Pqzif/
Interesting @Tamara Flier ! It's great you've pointed out on adventitious roots that hand around from branches, which could be used to develop new roots and get the branch above it to develop new tree.
Thanks for sharing! It could be useful on propagating Monstera.
Garden Makeover for Summers
It's just shifting my outdoor plants to indoors, plus, repositioning my houseplants and succulents. Why? 🐮 Well! Since it's been fee weeks left for Eid to arrive, so, there will be a lot of cattle in my street. Have to save my plants from grazing. ☀️ Also, the weather forecast of upcoming heatwave in Karachi, so, could be dangerous for my plants.
Garden Makeover for Summers
@Dennis Wichter Thanks! Appreciate it. Last year, heatwave was so bad during May that around 5 people died within a day, within our block. The temperature reaches to about 45 C to 47 C. So, could be fatal.
@Julie Vigil Haha! Those kittens are loving it. But it was out of sudden. If I was that open on planning better plant choices, would've buy some grass-like plants, beforehand to graze them. Although, there's one thing good. Am having leverage to buy some hay for mulching.
Past and present pests
What’s buggin’ you right now? Drop a pic of a “pest” that’s disturbing your growing area — it can be an animal, insect, or anything else that tries to disrupt soil life, plant health, or your inner peace. Tell tell us what it is and why it’s a nuisance to you. Extra-special bonus bragging rights if you include a solution to successfully manage or eliminate it. 💥
Past and present pests
@Julie Vigil Haha! Sure, will try to take pictures of them.
@Julie Vigil Kittens in the morning.
hornworms and other pests
Borage is a perfect answer to attract pollinators like bees and provides natural pest control by repelling hornworms. You should plant borage to promote pollination and support a healthy garden ecosystem. A little long, but worth it https://www.bing.com/ck/a?!&&p=03e6c53e8d6f6b3168079e84977ec0001201edd85219b43627f43643f19fbbd8JmltdHM9MTc3NzA3NTIwMA&ptn=3&ver=2&hsh=4&fclid=0c81ace2-3430-6d05-14dc-bbdf35136cda&u=a1L3ZpZGVvcy9yaXZlcnZpZXcvcmVsYXRlZHZpZGVvP3E9eWVsbG93K2h1c2srZ3JvdW5kK2NoZXJyeStjb21wYW5pb24rcGxhbnRzJm1pZD1ENjU0NkVGN0Y4RUJERjRBOTgwMUQ2NTQ2RUY3RjhFQkRGNEE5ODAxJmNodXJsPWh0dHBzJTNhJTJmJTJmd3d3LnlvdXR1YmUuY29tJTJmY2hhbm5lbCUyZlVDSmFybFZGdGF4QVlXdFpuZUJwbWJ1ZyZGT1JNPVZJUkU
@Julie Vigil I learned from @Jim Flach , especially his post, few days back, about having a group of plants, based on anchor plant.
@Julie Vigil Am still learning from you all, as well. To be honest, when joining this community, have started to learn more about plants. So, it's not me, it's us.
Seed preparation
Do you do anything special to prep certain seeds before planting to ensure a good germination? If so, which seeds, what do you do, and why? Here’s a video about fermenting tomato seeds prior to planting and why it’s important to get that slick gel-like substance off the seeds for better results. https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1Tp9MmjaBu/?mibextid=wwXIfr
Seed preparation
I haven't tried with tomatoes, since I use prepared tomato seeds, ordered from local vendors. Although I did try with Sapota and Bitter Gourd, which are hard seeds. I just washed them, clipped the pointed part with nail cutter and placed them in damp tissue in a sealed plastic container, placed along with other plants for few days.
