Open Compressor launch event (1 week away)
Hey everyone, Just a heads up that the launch event for our first ever plugin, Open Compressor, is exactly a week away! Join us live on Thursday, September 25th at 10am Eastern Time for an educational, action-packed event. We’ll be breaking down the plugin itself, demonstrating expert compression techniques on real-world mixes and masters, and delivering a masterclass on compression to help you level up as an engineer and producer. Replay will be sent to all registrants. Here's the link to RSVP if you haven't already: https://courses.mastering.com/event_full/1757071997273x706016099407233000?utm_source=FTMSkool Hope to see lots of you there, it's gonna be a ton of fun! And a special shout out to the 170+ who have already pre-ordered - can't wait to share this with you all. Cheers, Rob

@Alex Thomas The main feature of the software is that you don't have to have 3 different plug-ins at the same time to do what this one does. Clipping, compression and limiting also can be side chained to trigger it from something else. For example, compressing the bass guitar only when the kick drum hits. This is commonly called triggered ducking. Very useful for cleaning up the low end and making space for the kick to live in the mix. Hope this helps. 🤠
LET’S DISCUSS THE NEW SPOTIFY TERMS
Are you aware of the new Spotify terms as of a few weeks ago, the end of August? If not: LET’S DISCUSS! If so, what do you think? LET’S DISCUSS! Either way, there’s not a lot of discussions out there on this (yet) …changes sort of happened quietly but in keeping with many trends discussed here and elsewhere. A Google search or a peek at the new terms is sure to be interesting…so, have a look and…LET’S DISCUSS!

@Jae Lethe The only way to opt out is to not post anything on their platform in the first place. If you already have your stuff on there, I would take it down and delete Stopify... Spotify from your system. Regardless, don't agree to their EULA or no matter what you do, you'll have no legal recourse. Hope this helps. 🤠

Revealing our first ever plugin
It's finally time to share all the details! Introducing our first ever plugin... Open Compressor - The all-in-one compressor that shows you under the hood If you want to learn all about it, we're hosting a value-packed launch event on Sep 25th to celebrate. RSVP here: https://courses.mastering.com/event_full/1757071997273x706016099407233000?utm_source=FTMSkool We built this compressor because we're very aware of the fact that compression is often the most difficult tool for people to understand. We set out to build a compressor that would help you understand compression by effectively seeing *inside* the compressor, while also being a world-class swiss army knife plugin that any engineer would use. Open Compressor is designed to give you all-in-one functionality (with clipping, limiting, saturation, and more) and allow you to effectively recreate any compressor you want using foundational, component-level controls... While simultaneously revealing what's actually happening under the hood, so you can develop a deeper understanding of the technical processes at play, and make better decisions for your music. Want to learn more? Register for the launch event, then on the following page you'll be able to see the full info on Open Compressor, and even save 30% by pre-ordering ahead of the public launch. All the info is here, simply register for the launch event to get started: https://courses.mastering.com/event_full/1757071997273x706016099407233000?utm_source=FTMSkool Hope to see lots of you at the launch event, it's gonna be a ton of fun! - Rob

@Pavol Drabek I like Linux for stability but supported audio software is very limited. Therefore I use Windows 11 Pro. Pretty much everything (other than Logic) will work on it. Hope this helps. 🤠

@Ismael Cisneros Seems like it should be quite low because it's just one plug-in that does several things simultaneously. Clipping, compression and limiting is not very taxing on a modern system's recourses. Even if you have multiple instances of it running, you should have no problem. Hope this helps. 🤠
GOLDEN - KPOP GOES ROCK (mix feedback?)
Hey guys! I'd love to get your thoughts on this mix so far. It's a rock version of "Golden" from KPop Demon Hunters and I've spent all day dialing it in, but it feels like it needs a bit of cleaning up. Would love some thoughtful feedback or perspective! Planning to release it on YouTube this weekend. Thanks! https://on.soundcloud.com/atnRucNvJnXRplyCoU

I'm definitely a fan. Very good job! One thing I did notice was that the lowest notes in the vocal were a bit weak and unintelligible. Maybe a little tweaking on those and it'll be great. Hope this helps. 🤠
