BEEN THERE? DROP IT BELOW (1 place per comment)
🌍 I want to try something simple but powerful. 👇 Where have you actually been (traveled, lived, or explored)? BUT one rule: ➡️ Post ONE destination per comment (no lists, no stacking cities) Examples: “Rome, Italy” “Tulum, Mexico” “Sedona, Arizona” Why we’re doing this: I want to start building a trusted travel network inside this group — real places, real people, real experiences. This helps: People planning trips know who to talk to Me connect you with the right people Surface real recommendations (not Google noise) Optional (if you want to add more): Reply to your own comment with: What you loved What surprised you What you’d skip Let’s see how deep this group really goes 👇

🎷 First Official One Step Away Trip — New Orleans (Sept 2026)
...🎷 New Orleans is calling. September 2026. I have been sitting on this idea long enough. It is time to find out if this is actually happening. Here is what I am thinking for our first official One Step Away Travelers trip: New Orleans. September 2026. Small group of 8 to 12 people. Solo friendly, relaxed pace, no rushing around. Think live music, legendary food, real culture, guided experiences, and zero logistics stress on your end. Just show up and enjoy it. I am not building this until I know who is serious about it. So I need one thing from you right now. Just one word in the comments: 🔥 IN if you would seriously consider joining 👍 INTERESTED if you want details before deciding 👀 FOLLOWING if a future trip is more your speed ❌ PASS if it is not for you That is it. One word. Takes five seconds. If 8 or more people say IN or INTERESTED, I start building it this week. If not, it stays on the shelf and we move on. New Orleans is one of those cities that gets under your skin. The food alone is worth the trip. The music makes it unforgettable. Are you in or are you out?

Awesome, I would love to join but I am planning a trip to take my grandaughter to Universal for her 15th birthday. But hope to join the next one.
Would you actually do an Africa Safari?
Would you actually do an Africa safari… or is it just a “one day” trip? I’ve been talking with a local safari operator in East Africa about possibly putting together a small group experience — something like: • Uganda safari • Gorilla trekking • Wildlife game drives • Small group (not big bus tours) • Bucket-list level experience Still early, just exploring — but I’m curious… Is this something you'd actually want to do? And if yes: - Would you go solo or bring someone? - What would hold you back? - What timeframe feels realistic? (2025 / 2026 / someday) - Is gorilla trekking a yes or too intense? No commitment — just gauging real interest before I go deeper on this. Some trips stay in the “someday” category forever…This might be one worth actually doing. The Real Blocker (Safety vs Confidence)
I’m noticing a pattern in this community. Most people don’t hesitate to travel solo because they don’t want to… They hesitate because they’re unsure they’ll be safe. New place New decisions No built-in safety net That hesitation makes sense. But here’s what I’ve seen again and again — confidence doesn’t come before the first trip. It builds because of it. Most solo travelers don’t start fearless. They start cautious. ..Prepared. ...Aware. Then something shifts. Curious — what holds you back more right now: Safety concerns or Confidence going alone?

For me it is safety. I have done some solo travel for business but only in the US.

Yes!
Quick pulse check…
What kind of trip sounds most appealing right now? • A relaxed small group getaway • A bucket-list international trip • A short weekend reset (2–3 nights) • A “first solo but not alone” trip • Just exploring ideas for now No commitment — just getting a feel for where everyone’s mindset is. Your answers help shape: – upcoming group trips – destinations we explore – trip length – and how structured vs flexible things should be Just drop one that fits you best.
