[ME, WK 4, PROMPT 2] Wrapping Up Inventories, Round #1 - Where are you?
Hi friends, Today's prompt is an encouragement to work through your inventories in preparation for our next Micro-Experiment - Connecting the Dots (coming Monday). We're wrapping a month of the 'Meet Yourself on Paper' micro-experiment. While our micro-experiments are never 'over' - it's still there for you whenever you want to work on it, but we are moving to a next micro-experiment. In February we'll use our inventories (the evidence we've collected about who we are in the Meet Yourself on Paper ME) and complete simple exercises, including using AI, to find micro ways to build new things into our life. We'll begin experimenting with new identities by connecting different parts of you, together, in unique ways. And, if you've not had the chance to work on your inventories, I encourage you to take some time this weekend so you have some items to work with in our next experiment. Let me know below, who has a first pass on the inventories and who is working through them? No judgement, just want to get a sense of where everyone is. This weekend I am working on our next experiment - CONNECTING THE DOTS - as well as building a simpler structure for our micro-experiments. Remember, I am building this community as we go and refining as I learn more. All feedback welcome. Cheers, Colleen I know we'd love to hear from you regarding your findings from our Meet Yourself on Paper experiment. Feel free to post below, or create your own post.

I have only done the initial inventory as I currently feel overwhelmed with too many tasks. What has crossed my mind is that food/cooking has always been my passion in life and now that I am under Ozempic for health reasons, the cooking barely still exists. Nevertheless the idea of opening a cookie counter/delivery shop was there at the beginning of my burnout 8.5 years ago and has now come back. Is it a way to delay what I really need to focus on (searching for a job as I need an income urgently) or is it a real desire popping up again? I did investigate years ago about setting up your own food business in Belgium but that is very heavy (admin wise) and costly. Another idea floating in my mind has been an online business since Colleen mentioned that. It does make me excited the way searching for a job does not.
Trixie is on the mend
Hi, Thanks for checking on Trixie and our emergency vet visit. She's on the mend. We don't know if it was a seizure or something else. She does have early stage liver cancer and the bloodwork showed no progression - so that was good news.

Thanks for the update about Trixie. Sorry to hear about her liver cancer. At least she is back home now with you, and all is back to normal. I bet she will enjoy that.
Quick Check: Is the Lab Easy to Navigate?
Hi, We’re growing. Thank you for being here. I’m building this community in public. I adjust it in real time. Some days I think, ā€œWhat am I doing?ā€ Other days I see members talking, connecting, and moving forward, and I know this work matters. You know this feeling. Your feedback drives what I build next. Without it, I guess. Guessing wastes time. From years in corporate work and hundreds of focus groups, I learned one thing fast. Vague feedback questions fail. ā€œWhat do you think?ā€ leads nowhere. So I’m asking one specific question below. Please choose the single option that fits you best.If you want to say more, add a comment after you vote. āž”ļøWhen I come into The 3rd Act Lab... Thanks in advance!

I suffer from FOMO and love more structure so I know I have not missed anything. I know we focus on the 4 inventories for the month of Jan but then comes on top all the different topics on this forum and I start to feel a bit overwhelmed. I love the recap of the Power Calls.

@Colleen Kochannek Ah yes of course the challenge of the new participants joining anytime. Thanks for sharing the use of AI for the recap as I was wondering if AI was involved ;-) ah yes AI is amazing for some things. Chatgpt has hallucinated so many times that I moved to Claude and now am using a lot Gemini (which impressive too).
[ME WK 2, PROMPT 1] Without looking at your inventories what's one thing...?
PROMPT: Without looking at your inventories what's one thing you keep thinking about? Last week, in our Meet Yourself on Paper Micro-Experiment, we started on a first pass of the four inventories inside The Big Book of You, v2. We're going to keep diving deeper into them this week. In fact, the assigment this week is to make another pass at the inventories. I know more will come up. BUT... before you do that, what's one thing you keep thinking about from your first pass at the inventories? Is there a memory that has come up? Have you remembered something you loved doing, but haven't done in a long time? Is there just a thought (dare I say dream or wish) you keep thinking about? Drop it in the comments below. I want us to get used to listening to ourselves and paying attention to what we're paying attention to.

Why have I never tried working in areas that really stimulate/engage me (animals, movie industry, food) and instead tried to adjust and fit in (with a lot of repressed emotions accumulated and health issues)

@Colleen Kochannek I never had a clear idea of what I really wanted to do. No clear calling. At university, I hesitated between medicine (which I did for a year and loved it but failed), psychology or veterinary (there come the animals in the picture). I even hesitated with going to Switzerland to become a chef (food chef) but my sister who is 10 years older than me intervened and said to my parents that I would be better off with a university diploma (which I think is correct). So I was never really forced into specific studies. Nevertheless I grew up in a very rational and logical environment with a very strict and dominant father with a bit of creativity, thinking outside of the box, agility/flexibility of thinking from my mother. I think the only moment I thought I had finally found what I enjoyed is when I started training people in a company about PeopleSoft and SAP in classrooms and decided to prepare the training material in a creative way with colors, smells, drawings, games etc (very outside the box for Europe). But after my burnout, the sparkle is gone about training. In my last 2 jobs, it was all about creating eLearnings (way cheaper than classroom trainings) and doing project management, very far away from the essence of what a classroom trainer is. I still love sharing knowledge.

RECAP: We're on Week #1 of our Meet Yourself on Paper micro-experiment. We're working through Part 1 of Your Big Book of You, v2 - making a first pass through the 4 inventories. Remember - you inventories should be bullet points, fast phrases, quick thoughts. We're not doing any analysis yet - just beginning the process of documenting ourselves. šŸ”ŽASSIGNMENT: Comment below with an inventory A-HA from this week's preliminary inventories. >> Did you remember something about yourself you hadn't thought about in a long time? >> Were you surprised by how many things you could add to your inventories? >> Were you surprised it was challenging to come up with things for your inventories? Next week, we'll begin diving a bit deeper. For now, let working through your inventories be easy. Also - great work using the Community thread. I love seeing your posts and seeing you interact with each other. I know we're building something special here. 🤩

I had completely forgotten how much I love travelling to see wildlife and trying exotic dishes.
