Huge Birdhouse
I haven't posted in a while we have been busy. We just finished a Wonka Birdhouse and I'm happy to say it has it's first guest! It's cut on the Onefinity CNC, we mundified the file from Woodsmith. This is a fun project!!!!

Mick, this opens a whole new world to me. I’ve contemplated such, but holy cow! Amazing. Will be binge-watching your channel asap.
ColorCore HDPE Plastic
Decided to try out Cutting It Close Workshop, ColorCore HDPE Plastic. Here is a picture using the red, white, red 12" x 24" sheet. I used a 1/8" O Flute bit for all the carving. Mills very nice. CNC Machine: Altmill 4 x 4.

Best CNC Bits For Beginners 🧰
One of the biggest struggles for CNC beginners is choosing the right bits without wasting money on ones you don’t need. So, in my latest video, I’m breaking it all down by cutting a live CNC project using 5 MUST-HAVE bits every beginner should own. Get the Bit Set Here: https://cicworkshop.com/collections/bits/products/essential-bit-starter-set 🔥 In this video, you’ll learn: ✅ How to actually use these 5 bits for clean, precise cuts ✅ The difference between upcut, downcut, and V-bits in action ✅ Why choosing the right bit saves time, frustration, and material ✅ My go-to bit for surfacing and getting perfectly smooth stock ⚡ If you’re new to CNC or struggling with rough cuts, this video is for you! Plus, I’ve put all these essential bits together into a Beginner Bit Kit, so you can grab them all in one place. 🎥 Watch the video here: https://youtu.be/TjfdMxBt1wM?si=5Hi0pfzo2v4nm_nj 💬 Which CNC bit do you use the most? Purchase, with discount, made!!
New CNC question...
Quick question for the group... I currently have a Longmill - 1st edition - looking to upgrade to a more robust machine - looking at the Stepcraft M700 or the Digital Wood carver DWC2836. Does anyone have experience with either of these? I have looked at the Onefinity, Altmill, Shapeako and feel for a couple more bucks I can get a more heavy duty machine. Any thoughts or any other machine recommendations. Oh, I do want a quick delivery - maybe a month or so.

@Les Hobgood They do. And if you bought your machine new from them, with the 5 Pro, I got 4 30-minute calls for the first year. I’ve only used one so far. There’s also their forum carbide3D.com/hub Very helpful. And free.

Engraved letters = 60 or 90 degree vee bits Grove lettering flat bottom an end mill down cut—I have 1/4” Golden Girl from @Ryan Drapela (Pic 1) 1/8”, 1/16”, 1/32” from Carbide3D but those are up cuts and I don’t like them for such, but they’ve done the trick (Pic 2&3) Carved out raised lettering—I use the Golden Girl and then depending on sizes, I go in with the smaller with the Carbide 3Ds.
