Can this community help build a social media machine for the voiceless?
I’m looking for help from the smartest people in this community. This is not theory. This is a live Australian justice issue. I’m involved with Infected Blood Australia, a victim group fighting for Australians harmed through contaminated blood transfusions and blood products. The UK has already had its major Infected Blood Inquiry. Victims there received national attention, an official reckoning, and a massive compensation response. Australia has not. One of our key victim advocates, Charles MacKenzie, was a child victim and gave evidence connected to the UK Infected Blood Inquiry on behalf of Australian victims. Yet here in Australia, victims are still fighting for truth, records, recognition, accountability, and a Royal Commission. We have issued press material. We have tried to get media attention. We have tried the proper channels. The problem is this: No major Australian journalist or outlet is giving this the sustained coverage it deserves. Whether people call that media silence, institutional fear, legal risk, political sensitivity, or simply “too hard,” the outcome is the same: Victims remain unheard. And that is what I want help solving. I am not asking for sympathy. I am asking for brains. How do we build a social media system that can get real news out when legacy media will not touch it? I’m thinking of a proper machine, not random posting. Something like: - short-form video system - AI documentary clips - survivor story reels - quote-card campaigns - evidence-based carousels - daily truth updates - volunteer distribution network - Facebook-first content strategy - X / Instagram / TikTok / YouTube Shorts repurposing - MP-tagging and journalist-tagging workflows - templates others can copy and repost - a public archive people can verify - a way for ordinary Australians to take one simple action daily The question I want to put to this community is: If you had to bypass captured or silent media and get a buried national scandal into public consciousness, what system would you build?

What we need most is not one viral post. We need a repeatable system. I’m looking for people who can help think through: 1. content structure 2. daily posting rhythm 3. AI video/documentary workflow 4. volunteer sharing system 5. public-pressure loop 6. evidence archive 7. how to make ordinary Australians understand this in under 30 seconds The goal is to make Infected Blood Australia impossible to ignore.

I would genuinely welcome some brilliant minds on this. It does not have to be exactly the pathway I have proposed. I am open to fresh ideas, better strategy, legal insight, media thinking, investigative support, and anyone who can help bring clarity to one of the hardest scandals in Australia to crack. But it can be cracked. The United Kingdom has just completed its infected blood inquiry and moved toward a multi-billion pound compensation scheme. This is not a minor issue. This is not something that should be ignored, buried, or left for victims and families to fight alone. Australia has its own infected blood scandal. Families were harmed by HIV and Hepatitis C tainted blood transfusions and blood treatments, and yet the burden of pushing for truth, accountability, and justice is still falling on the very people who were injured. That is wrong. So I am calling on people who want to help build a better tomorrow for our children’s children. If you have legal experience, media contacts, research skills, political insight, medical knowledge, investigative instincts, or simply the courage to help push this into the light, now is the time. Infected Blood Australia is going to the Federal Court. This is too important to leave to silence.
🏆 WEEKLY COMP #4 RESULTS: THE AGENCY (CORRECTED) 🏆
I need to walk back this morning's announcement before anything else. @Ariel Ortiz is not a Premium or VIP member. The competition was Premium and VIP only, stated in bold in the original brief. That eligibility check should have happened before judging and it didn't. That's on me. The $325 and the Week 4 title go to @Ruby Sparks. The rest of the writeup stands. Repeating it here so the corrected results live in one place. ➖➖➖ 🏆 WINNER: @Ruby Sparks 🏆 🔗 Repo: https://github.com/sparkles-inc/agency-os 🌐 Live site: https://agency-os-tan-five.vercel.app/ Ruby was within an inch of taking it on the original call. The judging call between her build and Ariel's was the longest I've sat with on any comp. She earned this on the work alone. The Loom video she recorded for this submission is the cleanest voice work I've heard on any community submission. Full-on infomercial quality. Voice acting level. If you haven't watched it yet, go watch it. It's a master class in how to present a build. Beyond the voice: an animated handoff explainer on the companion site, a WRITEUP.md that compresses the entire submission into three paragraphs of clean argument, and a design philosophy made explicit. She refused typed schemas in favor of human-readable Handoff Cards with seven sections including a required Gaps field ("if Gaps is empty, you're not looking hard enough"). One continuous narrative thread runs through all 27 files of her repo. Ruby takes the $325. @Sonija Quinn will reach out to Ruby directly for payment details. Remember: in a world where AI is making it easier to build, it's the unique opinions and styles that become valuable. ➖➖➖ I thought last week was hard to judge. This was the hardest comp to judge so far. Not even close.

💡 Everybody Will Have To Use AI
"Everybody will have to use AI. Because if you don't use AI, you will lose your job to somebody that does" -- Jenson Huang, CEO Nvidia I keep hearing this exact tension in conversations with friends, family, and coworkers. The moment AI comes up, the vibe shifts: “It’s going to take all the jobs. It’s evil. We’re all doomed.” But what if we’re looking at it backwards? AI already holds within it essentially all the books humanity has ever written. It’s a tool that gives us access to knowledge far beyond any single human lifetime — compressing centuries of wisdom, science, creativity, and experience into seconds. Instead of replacing us, it can expand us. It lets us ask better questions, solve harder problems, and explore realms we couldn’t reach alone. Every major technology in history (fire, electricity, computers, the internet) was feared for the jobs it would destroy. Yet each one ultimately created far more opportunity than it eliminated — for those who learned to wield it. The key isn’t resisting AI. It’s learning to guide it intelligently. Just like effective prompting: you don’t tell the model *how* to do something step-by-step. You clearly describe the outcome you want. The same principle applies to our relationship with AI as a society. We decide the direction. We set the guardrails. We choose whether it amplifies human potential or something else. --------------------------------- Edited: This just dropped from AWS CEO The “AI will take all jobs” story is too simple. Some jobs will shrink. Some will change. Some new ones will appear. But the real divide may be behavioral. People who avoid AI will feel hunted by it. People who test it early will see where it helps. That does not make the transition painless. It just makes panic a bad strategy. --------------------------------- So I’m curious — where do you stand? - Are you already using AI regularly in your work or life? - Or do you still see it mainly as a threat? - What’s the best way you’ve found to reframe this conversation with people who are skeptical or afraid?

1st App done! Whoa…
Completed a HABIT Tracking app. “Set your daily HABITS you want to improve on and let the 8th wonder of the world, COMPOUND INTEREST , prosper you in achieving goals and creating new BETTER habits. OPTION MENU Displays your analytics from results of a week, month, quarter, etc. Steps: 1. told Claude chat what I wanted. I said it needs to be a free setup, no subscriptions or fees to start and it recommended I use GitHub, vercel and Supabase. This is to store the data it records when users check off tasks for their daily habits and tracks results. I wanted Oauth so people can login with email. Daily quotes revolving in the ui to keep up motivation. 2.told Claude chat to make me a plan to effectively build this organized and as a pro engineer. 3. Converted the chat into a short Claude Md file and a context file. 4.told it to give me a pro CS Eng folder structure and save it to my docs. 5. Pushed it to git hub and I told it to build. All from VScode we went to work…. And had more than 50% worth of tokens left, as I even used it for other ideas while it was building out task app. This was amazing. Thank you @Jake Van Clief !!! Looking forward to more content of yours. Now time to work on the UI.

Very inspiring, just shows us we have no limits! Well done
Who's here? Drop your intro.
Tell us three things: 1. What you do (job, industry, student, career-changer, whatever) 2. What brought you to Clief Notes 3. One thing you're trying to figure out right now related to computing or AI I'll respond to every single one. And read each other's intros too because the person who's stuck on the same problem as you might already be in this thread. I'll go first I am Jake, I have been working in tech for 15 Years, building with Generative AI for 3 Years straight now! Excited to teach and learn! That's it. Simple, scannable, gives you data on who's joining and what they need, and keeps the feed clear for content that retains people past week one.
