Here's my opinion on these roadmaps... First of all, I just want to say that some people really put it the effort to create a comprehensive roadmap that gives you guidance and advice on the best resources out there. A good example of this: TCM Security does create a roadmap on how to become a hacker every year (here's the link for the 2025 version https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EdFiH_BfEH4) however... MOST of these roadmaps are just a way for people to farm engagement... they ask you to comment a certain word on a post, like "roadmap" and then they DM you this magic PDF with all the secret spells to get you a 6 figure job in cybersecurity in just 6 weeks. If you get something like this from people who don't even work in the field, probably got a Security+ certification 5 years ago a never done anything relevant in their own career.... Guys this is almost guaranteed to be a template of entry level certifications and low budget courses that they send to EVERYONE! If you follow these templates, you're entering a game where none of the recommended courses and certifications are tailored to YOUR OWN strengths and background! That's the most important part! You all have a unique background, unique strengths, and that MUST be used in your favor! Also, if you want to stand out from everybody else, how do you think doing the exact same thing others are doing will help you? If everybody has the same courses and certifications, they kinda of lose their value right? And this is why I always say, there's is no "one path" or "roadmap". You have to create your own! You can use these roadmaps as inspiration and a way of knowing what's out there, but then you should create your own, and feel free to change it, adapt it, and be flexible depending on your goals and what the market is asking for :) Curious to know if you agree... : )
