So I’ve got my Quad Cortex Mini and..
For a really long time I was playing and practicing via computer only. Then I decided to treat my music passion and to buy some fancy thing. First was this beautiful community membership (never will regret it), then I registered in Freak Guitar Camp 2026 (to meet more people, build presence and inspire), and the last was QC Mini. Since it is always in Sold Out mode, I waited for the device for a 12 weeks. And yesterday was The Day. I was going to delivery station and back wearing one of the happiest faces in my lately life. Tear apart delivery paper box. Carefully unboxed packaging. Plug the power supply (according the manufacturer it should run immediately, but can be set upped later). And? Nothing… Device seems completely dead. I read through the manual, googled an issue, while my mood on a rollercoaster was falling from the highest hill down. Nothing… Then I mailed to both Thomann and Neural DSP, described an issue. And got the answer from manufacturer that power supply is wrong, they will change it ASAP I tested the plug, it works according the values on a description. Compared with the input values, seems right. And this is the only device that has lock power supply system. Which was there. So I tend towards the device itself. While waiting for everything else I tried alternative power supply system with similar values. 0 reaction. Pain
So I’ve got my Quad Cortex Mini and..

This must be very frustrating. And that an anlternative power supply didn't change a thing is not the best sign. I hope it's really just the power supply and not your device. Fingers crossed!

@Andrii Vasylkiv Good that it is working. Hope you have a lot of fun with it👍 I owned a nano cortex for a few weeks, but i really hated editing the settings on a phone. But I think you can do that on pc for the Mini.
8-Week Alternate Picking Intensive Daily Accountability Check-In
This thread is optional, but it’s usually a very good idea to check in here once you’re done for the day. Consistency is everything in a program like this, and a simple public check-in helps a lot more than most people expect. How to check in Post a comment using this format: Week X – Day X completed Example: Week 1 – Day 3 completed That’s it. No explanations needed. Just mark the work done and move on with your day. Use this thread as your running log for the full 8 weeks.

Welcome David 🎸
I switched guitar and was utterly horrified
Earlier today, after finishing my legato routine, I was just noodling around and decided to pick up my old Jackson, which I hadn’t touched in a month or two. It immediately felt strange. The action is insanely low, almost effortless on the fretting hand, but something about the overall feel was off. It actually seemed like the string tension was lower than on my other guitars, even though they all share the same scale length and string gauge. Out of curiosity, I plugged it in and started playing. It was brutal. Everything sounded sloppy, like I’d completely lost control of my picking. Then I switched back to the guitar I’ve been using lately, and suddenly everything felt normal again. My picking was controlled, consistent, and accurate. At that point I started going back and forth between guitars, trying to figure out what was happening. Every single time I returned to the Jackson, my playing regressed. It genuinely sounded like I’d gone back a full year in development. Naturally, I concluded that all my progress was guitar-specific, so I chopped off my fingers and threw out all my gear. Has anyone else experienced something similar? Was this my emg 81 brutally revealing sloppiness that my emg 57 masks? 🤯

I practice on different guitars and every guitar feels a little different, but I never experienced such a dramatic difference. Thank god for that, because I don't think that my fingers tend to grow back if i cut them off 🤔 Action and string gauge wise I have similiar setups on all my guitars, but some have different pickups (EMGs, Duncan, DiMarzio, Harley Benton etc.). Maybe Shahar is right and your Action is to low on that guitar, or maybe some other setup issue.
G6PD - first official release with my lead parts
Hi All, I'm a student in Pro, and @Jon Bjork advised that I share this here in the big group. December 2025 I've been invited to take over the lead guitar role in G6PD, one of the oldest Thai metal bands from Chiang Mai. We've played some shows including a couple of festivals including Rock Alarm in Bangkok, and I'm also recording all the lead parts for the upcoming album. So here is the first official single visualiser released yesterday, please enjoy whoever is interested. Need to mention that Jon played a part in me being invited, giving me some invaluable advice on how to prepare for the audition. Also things I've learned in Pro help me write and play quite technical stuff for the songs yet to be released. Anyway, enjoy and give us a follow whoever is interested in metal with Northern Thai flavour.
