🔑 Risk Control: The Key to Long-Term Success
Hey everyone, Although our new setups are all live (except USDJPY), it’s important to remember that risk management is still a key factor for long-term success. Even if you are trading different strategies or instruments, many assets can move together if they share the same currency (for example EURUSD and XAUUSD). This correlation can increase your effective exposure and overall risk. 🔑 Key Points: • Normal Drawdowns: Each strategy is designed to have occasional drawdowns. 1–2 losing trades in a row are completely normal. • Multiple Strategies Together: Running several setups at once can result in overlapping losses. Example: 3 setups at 1% risk each could mean a 3% daily drawdown if they all lose simultaneously. • Risk Adjustment: • If trading multiple strategies → lower the risk per trade (e.g. 0.25–0.5%). • If you prefer higher risk (e.g. 1% per trade) → select only 1–2 core setups (for example EURUSD + Gold). • Prop Firm Accounts: These have tighter rules. Think in terms of the overall portfolio, not just individual strategies. Suggested Approach: • Evaluate whether it is more suitable for you to operate multiple strategies with reduced risk per trade. • Alternatively, consider focusing on a smaller selection of high-conviction setups while maintaining a standard risk allocation. Managing risk wisely is what keeps you in the game and growing consistently. And remember, if you’d like personalized guidance, we’re happy to arrange 1-on-1 support with our support team to help you set things up properly. https://tradealgorithm.co.uk/support

Hi Ivan, great post! Once I’m beyond my own testing phase—where I currently have all strategies enabled just to see what works for me—I plan to move toward a more selective approach, where the risk per strategy isn’t a flat 2%. I just wonder if there’s anything that can be done to counter the following: For example, EURUSD performance this month has been okay with a 66.7% win rate. The issue is that the wins have been relatively small, while yesterday’s loss was large enough to completely wipe out all prior gains. Is this something we should expect to see often? I suppose this is just part of trading… but is the automated system designed to adapt to the current month and make calculated adjustments, or is that outside its scope? * For others reading: The P&L numbers in the screenshot are mine, but the win rate and trade count may be relevant if you’re running the same strategy. I currently have all strategies enabled at 2% risk. The tracking system you see is automated—I pull closed trades directly from my broker into the portal I built for all strategys so at the end of the month I should have a real accurate view of all trades, strategys and performance.
MGCZ2025 MESZ2025 Apex indicator 3 minute chart
Been looking at a shorter time frame to get some smaller scalp trades to work on my consistency. I ran some tests on these two futures on my trading view using the apex back tester. I find this looks great on a 1 week backtested. I am going to try it out this next week along with my confirmation indicators and the volume profile levels. Feel free to try these settings out. Share the feedback below 👇 good or bad. Here are the screen shots.

Those look great, nice work! Do you have a way to automate it at all? I think if if the strat is outputting buy and sell signals then its doable via a webhook!

📢 Important Update – High-Volatility News Today
Hey everyone, heads up: today we’ve got major U.S. Fed / FOMC events on the calendar — rate decision, economic projections, and press conference. Markets are expecting a 25 bps rate cut to 4.00–4.25% with very high probability. 🕗 Time: 7:00pm BST – FOMC Rate Decision & Statement 🕣 Time: 7:30pm BST – FOMC Press Conference What this means • Expect sharp moves in USD pairs, indices, and rate-sensitive assets. • High volatility and potential whipsaws around key levels. • During the day, USD-related assets may remain less volatile, with the main movement concentrated around the announcements. Recommendation If you’re trading manually: we strongly suggest closing open positions before the news to avoid unnecessary risk. Be cautious, false stability during the day can quickly turn into extreme volatility once the statements are released. Managing exposure around events like this is a core part of professional trading discipline.

Morning great work! Is it possible to see a breakdown of what the backtested improvement is with v2.1 compared to the previous version. For example XAU/USD appears to have a Win-Rate of 67.61%, what was it previously?

@Ivan Zatolyuk Great improvement, what about all of the other strategies? Use the same time period as you put in the classroom section.
