Idioms!
Hi guys! I hope you are all well! The last time we spoke, I mentioned teaching you some English idioms and you seemed quite keen on this idea. So, I thought it would be a good idea for us to get together, and test your knowledge on these a little. See what you already know. Teach you some new ones! What do you think?😁 By the way, if you have any you want to check or share with the group, please do so! @Vicent Miralles Lluch @Raquel Miralles @Rebeca Ester Lescano

Hi! Sure! What's your availability?

For me Wednesday would be a good option.
How very British! 🤣
So I had a trip out with my mum today, despite the fact that the weather was pretty grim! 😬 And it got me thinking... Watch the video, and let me know if you can think of any other ways to describe the rain! 🤔🌧☂️

@Stephanie Beresford Well, maybe both of them since It can become a mess when remembering them!😂
Who's ready for the first conversation class?
So, who is ready for the first conversation class? What topics would you like to be able to talk about more confidently in English? Is there something that is particularly challenging for you right now? Post your ideas and your availability, and I'll get things organised! 😍

Of course! Idioms would be a good point to start. For having a conversations maybe an article like the one we talked about the accent of a US island would be a great idea as well, or short TEDx talk or in fact a newspaper 🤔. Perhaps talking about AI and the influence on the education, in particular, in cheating in the exams! 😬 I'm available tomorrow, if not, on monday or tuesday afternoon.

Expressing your feelings in the form of interjections
Good afternoon guys! I hope you are all well! I am a bit quiet in the group at the moment, as my mum and I are searching for a new home, and we´re off to view some properties in Murcia over the next few days! It´s quite exciting! 🏘️ In the meantime, as requested, I have put together an exercise to help you learn how to use certain interjections in English. As you can imagine, there are quite a lot of them, so I have broken them down into a couple of lessons. Here is the first one. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1IImh5FJsgTRRAuu4tspZYUjC_lFmMRvhW6tAKMrtvqQ/edit?usp=sharing You should all have access to the document, but if there are any problems, please let me know! I haven´t given you the answers this time, but you can ask each other for help if needed. Then, if you wish, let me know when you are next available, and we can go through your answers together! 😁 Enjoy! 😍

Thanks! I tried the exercises but I have to admit that for me some expressions are somewhat ambiguous, we will have to discuss them!

@Stephanie Beresford Sure! Are you available tomorrow at 17pm?
Happy Valentine´s Day! ❤️
Wishing you a wonderful day full of love! And sharing with you, a sonnet from a man who formed a huge part of English history, and has had an ever-lasting impact on English literature. William Shakespeare. B. April 1564. D. 23rd April 1616. Stratford-Upon-Avon, Warwickshire. 👩‍⚖️📜 What is the meaning of his poem? 🤔 Do you agree with his definition of love? May love, in its many forms, always find you, and remain with you. ❤️ https://es.video.search.yahoo.com/search/video?fr=mcafee&p=sonnet+116&type=E210ES850G91967#id=1&vid=43558f5b77b641fec07f4741627a8df6&action=click

Hope you had a great Valentine's day as well! After an arduous task of understanding, think I can grasp the idea behind the sonnet! 😄 That true love is immutable and unbreakable. I mostly agree with his definition of love, but from my point of view, is too idealised or abstract. For instance, I would include in the definition active care, responsibility as essential factors.
