MISSION 2 Day 2 - Bella
Final goal: Bella rests her chin on my leg when the phone alarm rings. #ADHDguardian By the way, sometimes she stops before getting to my hand because the other day, when I went to give her a treat, we had a little static electric shock. It kind of punished the behaviour — poor thing! First click: deciding to come and train! Warming up: getting some reps in with nose touches. Fading the hand to get her to touch my leg instead. Adding “leg” as the cue for resting her chin on my leg.

@Amanda Taulborg Love that !
You Don’t Have to Be an Expert — Just Give Your Dog 10 Minutes đŸŸ
You do not have to be an expert to train your dog every day! You don’t need fancy skills. You don’t need perfect timing. You don’t need to “know everything.” You just need 10 minutes. Put it in your calendar. Set the intention. Pick one simple thing. That’s it! This video? It’s just Sandy doing basic sit, down, and stand reps. Nothing flashy. Nothing complicated. Just engagement. Just communication. Just us working together. And here’s the thing
 Training isn’t just about “getting the behavior.” It’s about: ‱ Building trust ‱ Strengthening your bond ‱ Opening up a clearer line of communication ‱ Giving your dog focused, one-on-one time they absolutely deserve Even if it feels awkward. Even if you’re unsure. Even if you’re thinking, “I don’t really know what I’m doing.” That’s literally what this space is for. You show up. You try. I help guide you. And no matter what you’re working on — simple reps like this, or something from the courses section — if you’re engaging with your dog and having fun, you’re already winning. Schedule the 10 minutes. At the end, you won’t just have a trained behavior. You’ll have a dog who trusts you more
 Who looks to you for guidance
 And who can’t wait to work with you again. That’s the real goal. đŸŸđŸ’›

MISSION 2 Day 1 - Bella - taking a no for answer
Wanted to do a training session this morning Bella had other plans 😂 learn to take no sometimes and try another Time with better conditions! What a silly me thinking that after a long break on training sessions she would accept to work rather than having her morning nap 😂 I might have something else to work on ! 👀

@Amanda Taulborg What a lovely message! She isn’t full GR, as her parents didn’t have a pedigree. Thanks for the recommendations — I’ve already decided what to work on for the 5-day videos. I’m going to try teaching her to target my leg when she hears my phone alarm. That could be super helpful when I need to take my medication. The only thing with Bella is that she’s unfortunately chronically ill. Some days she’s in quite a bit of pain, but aside from that, she loves training — and especially eating, hahaha! Thanks for the warm welcome. Being here will also really helps boost my motivation to get back into training dogs since postpartum. Very happy to be here! 😊

She already has a great chin rest and a solid hand target. I’ll test both and choose the one she feels more comfortable doing, then start pairing it with the phone alarm. Later on, it would be amazing to teach her to retrieve my medication đŸ€© — but one step at a time 😅
MISSION 1 day 1 ✅ Bella
