Empowerment coach too vague?
Now that I have started the course, I wonder if “empowerment coach” is too vague. This is what we do as a coach and this is why I call it like that. I am wondering if I could get some feedback, please. I am an empowerment coach for women. I guide them back to themselves and into the driving seat of their lives. Your help is much appreciated. What I am hearing @Melinda Williams is that you will have a positive and supportive approach to helping women reclaim control and navigate their journey. Is that right? I thought how you explained what you do wasn't very clear. Maybe something like this? "Empowering women to rediscover their inner strength and take control of their lives"

@Melinda Williams You're welcome. I work alot on messaging in my day job so I've somehow learnt how to adapt the value proposition for customers.
Scepticism of coaches
In 2023, public opinion about coaches is quite varied and nuanced, reflecting a mix of scepticism and critical analysis. There's a concern that some coaches apply generic methodologies without tailoring their approach to individual needs. People are increasingly aware that coaching isn't a one-size-fits-all solution and are critical of coaches who don’t customise their services. I'm interested in how you think you can be different and avoid the pitfalls of a 'one-size-fits-all' approach in coaching. How are you going to provide a more personalised, effective, and ethical service to your clients?

@Edmund Fajardo That's a great perspective, with emphasis on personal growth and authenticity. Do you think a coach's self-awareness and inner work significantly impact their effectiveness?

@Cath Hanna I think you're right. Not everyone is your client so those that are sceptics, I can see how you would take that on board and then move on.
Anyone had personal 1-to-1 coaching themselves?
Curious to hear from everyone. Have any of you experienced coaching firsthand? What valuable insights or transformations did you gain? I am wondering if it helped your journey in becoming a better coach.

@Maryna Rosen No in general. I've never had coaching or mentoring and I always thought I should. I've just never found anyone that I thought could offer enough value - or perceived value. So I was curious if it helped the process of becoming a coach.

@Olympia O dea Thanks for sharing. So you would say it would add value to your journey if you did coaching again?
I'm in shock! Level 4 unlocked in 5 days!
I'm really in shock. I didn't do anything special these days. Just came here sometimes, listened to mini-lessons, did some tasks, took notes and chatted with people. No it was not 20 min per day. Probably about 1h. It all started with "I don't understand what's going on here!" and "who are these people, and why are they so exited?" to "OMG! It's so interesting, useful, fantastic here!! What super professionals and smart, friendly cool people here!!!" Fantastic experience! Thank you very much @Ed J C Smith and the team for such a unique and pleasant opportunity! Such a feeling as in childhood - when you play with a wonderful team, time disappears and all doors open. Thank you all so much for the support! Really appreciate it! Let`s move forward!

@Maryna Rosen Love the metaphor you've used to describe our journey so far. It captures the essence of coaching and mentoring quite well don't you think - navigating through uncertainty with the tools we have, while trusting the process and the 'navigation system' we've set up. Like driving in foggy or night time conditions, coaching often involves navigating through unclear and challenging situations, but with the right strategies and tools, we can find our way.

@Maryna Rosen Oh wow. I can see that, as an educational psychologist, you would have key qualities to make you an effective coach. Good luck with your journey
