First one-to-one mentor coaching
I just had my first one-to-one mentor coaching with @Marina Zakharova yesterday. Her friendly, kind, yet strongly professional demeanor made the whole experience very warm while remaining decidedly clear. She takes her role to heart and believes in the value of the standards set by the International Coaching Federation. I knew I was in good hands. I have done many trainings in my life where I develop my craft under the guidance of a mentor. It's always an experience where one has to leave their ego at the door and be in it for professional and self-growth. Marina's feedback was so helpful to prepare me for meeting the ICF standards. I came away with concrete areas for 1. areas I need to strengthen (a lot!) and 2. areas where I have demonstrated the required competencies. I am excited about fine tuning my coaching in the weeks until our next meeting. I will work to reach the markers, a goal for which I am equipped between Marina's clear explanations and her written assessment. I have all the information necessary to reach that goal. Now it will take me really applying her recommendations during my coaching sessions. I'm on the path!

Thank you, Sabrina, for such a warm and thoughtful reflection🤍 I appreciate the openness and care you bring to developing your coaching. I’m glad you left with a clearer understanding of both the competencies you’re already demonstrating and the areas to strengthen. That gives your practice a clear focus. As you put the feedback into practice, notice what changes and what questions emerge. I look forward to exploring those discoveries together at our next session. 🌷

ICF Mentor Coaching Reminder — Cohorts 1 & 2
A warm reminder to everyone in Cohorts 1 and 2 (2026): if you haven’t booked your first one-on-one session with me, please do so now. Our ICF mentor coaching engagement includes seven hours of group mentor coaching and three hours of individual mentor coaching. Please leave at least two weeks between your individual sessions, in line with ICF guidance, so you have time to apply your developmental feedback in your coaching practice. My ICF mentor coaching work with these cohorts is scheduled to finish by the end of November 2026. That leaves December for the Academy’s Final Performance Evaluation and program completion process. The Academy handles the evaluation; my role is to provide the ICF mentor coaching and developmental feedback. Once you have completed your 10 hours, I can confirm completion of your ICF mentor coaching. Any additional mentoring or documentation under a later new process is outside the scope of this cohort engagement. I invite you to book your remaining sessions asap. Also please note that there are requirements for 1-1 sessions (your recorded session, transcript with the timestamps and self reflection are to be submitted at least 2 days prior your scheduled session). If you have questions about your ICF mentor coaching with me, you’re welcome to message me directly. @Doreen Kahale @Anastasia Chernyshova @Sabrina Cauvet @Alvin Waterhouse @Marci Laughlin @Elijah Justice @Ria Gavalaki @Noah Carter @Joy Cornelia Radu @Brieana Downs @Vincent Morris

@Brieana Downs to fulfill the ICF requirement, mentor coaching has to be delivered over a period of at least 12 weeks. Because your cohort’s 1st session was on August 23d, that means the last one can’t be earlier than November 16th. To keep some space for scheduling, I provide additional week for coaches to complete their mentor coaching commitment until the end of November. Brieana, feel free to let me know if anything else feels unclear 🌷

@Doreen Kahale To complete your Level 1 coaching education and receive your certificate, ICF requires: • At least 60 hours of coach-specific education, with at least 50% completed live and up to 50% asynchronously. • Five observed coaching sessions, with written feedback on at least three. • Ten hours of mentor coaching over at least three months (12 weeks), including at least three individual hours. Group mentor coaching is limited to 10 participants per mentor coach. • A passing result on the final performance evaluation at the ACC level, assessed by a qualified assessor who meets ICF requirements. For questions about how these requirements are fulfilled within the Academy, I invite you to connect with Braja directly. My role in the program is specifically ICF mentor coaching, and I’m happy to clarify anything related to that part.🌹

@Brian Renner Of course, Brian, I respect your choice. However, given your feedback that you find my mentoring “quite unhelpful and possibly even detrimental,” and in alignment with ICF Code of Ethics Standards 1.2 and 4.3, I believe it would be inappropriate for us to continue working together as mentor coach and mentee. I can confirm the five group mentor coaching hours you completed with me. Please discuss any remaining arrangements with Braja and the Academy.

@Doreen Kahale Thank you so much Doreen🙏🏻 Yes, I didn’t realise that at that moment. I will definitely find another time. I will get back with the date and the time after addressing it with Braja. Warm wishes and be safe 🌷
