Action from today's Webinar: Five questions to now ask yourself
1. How much time are you spending on effective marketing?  2. How are you making the goals that you have achievable? 3. How many new things have you tried, this year & all the years before?  4. How much risk are you prepared to take & is it enough? 5. How can you prioritise business growth in balance with all other spend?
I’ll answer from what we are doing with Soul Farm with @Abi Gwynn but she might have input. 1. When I was on the ground I often felt shy to record or take pictures. I did try and allow time for it but didn’t clearly rink fence. Now we incorporate marketing into board meetings and I probably spend about 4 hours a month. Not including Abi’s time writing newsletters. Then I’ll have more intensive sessions when running campaigns or setting things up where I’ll spend several days maybe once a quarter. 2. We have recently had cash flow planning. Setting goals we all think are achievable. But I believe on little and often and the compound effect over the seasons. 3. We have tried lots and have some failures and some wins. I think we all embrace that. One failure was paying a door drop leaflet company. We didn’t see big results from that. And the leaflets were very good. 4. Creative risks are the right risks. New idea and thinking left field is where you can stand out. Taking those risks we know we now have a good and unique brand. We are prepared to put some money behind things but no only it’s it’s really measurable or relatively risk free. I’ve always wanted to dry bus stop posters but never really had the guts to take that risk. 5. I think this is a gradual one. But it’s thinking through the ROI. I always saw that I could make more money for the farm working on the business not in the business.

Nice way to handle missing items
Or anything else you need to let people know on the spot. More likely to be read than a note on the manifest IMO

Communication is so key and also using email and printer to double up. Solid subs and help people see that you care.
My week on the farm
With 5-7 volunteers plus a couple of staff: Picked 5 acres of dock roots in a new rented field, caught a honeybee swarm, planted and tied up 3x40m tunnels, planted two pallets of transplants in the field, tidied the whole workshop ✅ Anything admin related ❌
