A Simple SEO Strategy for Skool Communities 🔍
During a recent conversation with @Mindy Molein and @Mark Whitby , we were discussing how Public Skool communities can attract more visitors organically through Google Search. That conversation led us to an opportunity many community owners may be overlooking. YouTube! Remember, Google owns YouTube, and videos often get prominent placement in Google Search results, with thumbnails that draw attention. Look at the accompanying image (edited with AI). Notice how much space Google gives to video results? So why not use that visibility to help grow your Skool community? Here's a simple strategy I recommend: ✅ Start with keyword research. Identify questions and topics your ideal community members are searching for. ✅ Publish a YouTube video first. Create helpful content targeting those keywords, with an optimized title, description, and thumbnail. ✅ Turn that video into a valuable Skool post. Expand on the topic with written content and embed your video. ✅ Link them together. Include a link to your Public Skool post in the YouTube description, giving viewers a direct path to your community. Think about the possibilities. Suppose your community focuses on sourdough baking. You create a YouTube video about How to Make Sourdough Bread for Beginners, then publish a companion post in your Public Skool community. You've now created two opportunities to appear organically in Google Search, potentially reaching people who have never heard of your community. And here's something important: This strategy works for PRIVATE Skool communities, too! While your private community posts aren't publicly accessible to Google, your YouTube videos can still appear in search results. Simply point the link in your YouTube description to your Skool About page, where potential members can learn about your community and request to join. Of course, rankings aren't guaranteed, but each piece of valuable content creates another opportunity to be discovered.

@Glen Hutsell tough choice there. It might seem to tell them to go plant some seeds. But, if the soil has issues, they won’t grow well or even at all. I have moved a lot and have moved into places that was so bad I could get plants up to size in a pot, be ready to put in the ground, plant them, and they shrink. So, it really might be soil building. But, people often want instant wins. With growing that may or may not happen. My husband has done construction for 45 years, and there is some real crap out there. He now fixes houses and is amazed what he finds from the shortcuts and just pure lack of knowledge, by people getting paid to do it. Mainly, what we see is that people hire the cheapest construction work to cut costs and later pay more because of the problems. How do you teach for this?
👕 What If Your T-Shirt Could Promote Your Business?
A few days ago, I shared how we transformed Julianne Anderson's traditional website into a simple, one-page Link-in-Bio at Julianne4History.com. But there's another part of Julianne's story I want to share. Julianne loves picking — hunting for vintage treasures, collectibles, and pieces of history. She also has two communities, Retro Riches Archive and Ricochet, that she's passionate about growing. And she had a dream. She wanted to wear her own branded T-shirts while she was out picking, promoting what she loves and the communities she's building. So we made it happen! 👕 We designed a T-shirt with her branding on the front and a custom QR code on the back. And here's where it gets interesting... 📱 ONE QR CODE. TWO COMMUNITIES. ENDLESS OPPORTUNITIES. When someone scans the QR code on Julianne's shirt, they're taken directly to her new Link-in-Bio page. From there, they can: ✅ Explore Retro Riches Archive ✅ Join her Ricochet community ✅ Shop her vintage finds on eBay ✅ Connect with Julianne through her contact form ✅ Follow her on social media No complicated URLs to remember. No business cards to hand out. Just a conversation, a quick scan, and a connection. And because the QR code points to her Link-in-Bio, Julianne can update her links, offers, and content anytime without printing new shirts. That's what I love about combining EZ Bio with QR codes. Your marketing doesn't have to be complicated, expensive, or even digital to start a digital connection. Sometimes, all it takes is a T-shirt! 👏 Congratulations, Julianne! I love seeing your ideas come to life. 💬 Here's a question for everyone: If you could put a QR code on something you wear or carry every day, what would it be?

🛡️ Why I Turned Off Skool Growth Boost
I recently decided to turn off Skool's Growth Boost for Bio Builders. For me, it came down to one thing: Protecting my affiliates. Every Bio Builders member can share the community and earn 40% recurring commissions when someone they refer upgrades and pays for their own EZ Bio Page. And you don't need to be a paid EZ Bio member to participate. 🔗 Your EZ Bio Page Can Do the Referring When you create your EZ Bio Page, you have the option to turn on your affiliate badge. That badge connects visitors to Bio Builders using your affiliate link. Someone visits your Bio Page → clicks your badge → joins Bio Builders → upgrades to a paid Bio Page → you earn 40% recurring. 🤝 Why Turn Off Boost? Skool Boost could potentially bring additional people into the community. But I don't want another acquisition channel competing with the members and affiliates who are already helping me spread the word. If you introduce someone to Bio Builders or EZ Bio, I want you to have the opportunity to get credit for that referral. I'd rather put that opportunity (and money) in our members' hands. 🚀 Even If You're a Free Member You don't have to be a paying EZ Bio customer to refer someone. If you're a free member and you know someone who could benefit from Bio Builders or EZ Bio, share the community using your affiliate link. If they eventually upgrade to a paid Bio Page, you can earn 40% recurring. That's why I turned off Skool Boost. I'd rather reward the community that's helping me build the community. 🤝

@Jeff Baer I wonder how this works with having a Public community, and viewers clicking to comment and get the prompt to join. I also just read over in the Directory that if people sign up through the app either Apple or Google get 30% ongoing affiliate status.

@Jeff Baer Since repeating that, I found out it is false. Wowzer, a popular Skool owner made a big flashy post about it. So sorry about that.
