Hello everyone. I volunteer for a charity called the Brain and Spine Foundation. They recently asked if the volunteers would write and submit a poem or drawing to say thank you to all those who ran the London Marathon for the charity. We had formula ones Sebastian Vettel running for us which was fantastic. I have just written this and submitted it as I didn’t want to miss the submission date so it was a bit rushed! Not my finest work but I felt I should contribute something … Digging Down Deep you dug down deeper than you ever had before not for glory or gain you surfaced riding high above the threshold of your pain you dug down deep you thought you could do it but there were no guarantees a twisted ankle a stitch could have had you on your knees you dug down deep every tread a gargantuan step every breath burnt down deep every footstep as if it was your last but you dug down deep congratulations for reaching the finishing line well done for putting in the hours and the time a thousand thank yous when the going got rough you dug down deep cause you cared enough 2026 Feedback would be greatly appreciated on this 5 min poem. I started off not wanting or expecting it to rhyme but it just stated to so allowed it to just evolve . Carolyn
