Wow... what a weekend of golf. Huge congratulations to Ryan Fox on winning The Open! 🏆 Lucas Herbert had a solid crack too. I managed to watch a fair bit of the first three rounds (and stayed up for all of Round 3... paid for that at work today 😅). I missed the final round but I'll be watching it tonight. Question for everyone: What do you reckon you'd shoot at Royal Birkdale? 🤔 I actually think most golfers would score better than they expect if they played sensibly, kept it out of the rough and stuck to their numbers. That leads nicely into an upcoming video where I show how Donny gets himself into trouble by constantly trying to hit the miracle shot instead of playing to a comfortable number. I also headed up to Canberra for my partner's birthday. She went shopping... I played golf. Fair trade if you ask me. 😂 There'll be plenty of content coming over the next few weeks from the trip across all the Fairways Optional socials: 📸 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/fairwaysoptionalgc 🎵 TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@fairwaysoptionalgc ▶️ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@FairwaysOptionalGolfClub 📘 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/fairwaysoptionalgc I'll also be posting some extra behind-the-scenes content exclusively here in the community. I actually played some really good golf while filming, then backed it up with a comp round at Federal... It was FREEZING. 🥶 Fog everywhere. I played the first six holes in a puffer jacket. Oh... and I may have been carrying a slight birthday hangover (all the excuses). I wiped the first three holes. Couldn't hit it. Couldn't putt. Things finally clicked on the back nine, but I limped home with a pretty ordinary 23 Stableford points. But here's the important bit... I had an awesome day. It's a great reminder to temper your expectations. We play this ridiculous game because it's fun.
