Hey everyone, we are in the midst of our weekend long Consciousness and Arts Workshop here in Homer Alaska, at Diamond Ridge Peony Farm! We began yesterday evening with a consciousness work session, and now today's time has consisted of alternating sessions of consciousness work and art exploration classes taught by one of the four guest artist-teachers we are collaborating with. My workshop partner (and the art side of things) Becky Stephan are having a wonderful time hosting 8 participants as well as the artists at my farm where I hold classes in my 34' yurt, while most of the art sessions have been outside during the day since the weather has been super warm and sunny. As the consciousness facilitator for the weekend I've developed a curriculum that explores Authenticity, Vulnerability, Perception, Openness/Curiosity, as well as Non-Judgment and Acceptance. It has been a delight finding ways to relate these facets of consciousness work to people's experience of their artistic process, very fruitful combination of domains. The workshop will wrap up late tomorrow afternoon. Many thanks to all the participants for doing excellent work as well as the four artist teachers who have joined us for the weekend! We hope to host it annually down here in Homer in late summer, so look for notifications about it on www.stephanfinearts.com, or you can contact me personally at
[email protected], if you live in Alaska and are interested in checking it out next summer.
