TEDx Talk
Picture this. A box of printer paper. A kitchen stool on top of the box of printer paper. Me sitting on the kitchen stool on top of the box of printer paper with my Covid protection mask on until the signal comes that I am about to go live for my TEDx talk. It was early December, 2020. My son had just gotten out of the hospital and we were quarantined in our 700 square foot apartment. (We wouldn't set foot outside again for another five weeks.) TEDx Hartford had moved the talk from a "safe distanced" ballroom to a studio with only speakers and staff. Because I was quarantined, I was live-streamed instead. This is not my speaking energy, but it is my story. The through-line is people going through change. How that spark was ignited. How it showed up in my personal and professional lives, and key lessons I learned along the way. Today, we talked about TEDx and TED talks as "calling cards," among other things. I intentionally chose not to use this talk that way because it focuses so much more on my life than on the work I do. Here it is: Be the Hero of Your Change (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpctZ5eQBOw).

I read dozens of books a year, so pulling one out is tough but I will go with "Wise Beyond Your Field" by Nancy Napier. While on the faculty at Boise State University, Nancy brought together a networking group consisting of the football coach, the sheriff, the director of a dance company, the founder of a software company, and others. As one of them stated, "If what you are pursuing is the best practices of your industry, you will never rise to the top." What can you learn from others outside your field? As an example, the software company followed the football coach's example of position coaches, providing coaches to the different roles people held in his company.
The Common Thread
In your Inspired Speakers group yesterday, we got into an important discussion about how best to leverage your book once it is published (if you are a book author). I highly recommend listening to/watching the clips if you missed it. There are great tips for every one of us. I spoke about how my book was the catalyst for totally rethinking my service offerings, among other things. My speaking, writing, podcasting, advising, coaching, and Wisdom Circles all serve leaders working on the successful integration of artificial intelligence and human wisdom. My most recent point of leverage is my renewed website, which I launched over the weekend: https://TransformingLives.Coach

PUMPED TO BE HERE!
HAPPY MONDAY! My name is Brandon Triola and I speak on how creative services professionals can succeed ABUNDANTLY in this new, AI-era. My message is simple: Success as a creative comes down to learning three kinds of skills they don't teach creatives in college, courses, or conferences. I turned my message into a book last year called Save The Creatives and it's basically my blueprint for how an uneducated creative kid went from barely making 300/mo, to building a multi 7 figure, global, creative biz. Pumped to learn from all of you and help amplify your message as well! -BT

Ditto, @Sandi Boucher's comment. I would love to see if it is a fit for my podcast.
