What do you do during slow season?

Some of you guys are very experienced. Just wanna know before you got your first job. What did you market? Like I’ve done ads and ideally you know I know it takes a while. I’m getting traffic through my website, but I’m not generating any leads? I’ve already started to try to get myself ranked on Google by getting reviews from people. I have work with in the past for a company I worked for. But other than that any ideas?

When hiring subcontractors, how do you prevent them from taking work directly from your clients? Do you use contracts or other methods to protect yourself from being cut out? If so, what does that process look like when approaching a potential company to sub for you ?

Homeowner wanted me to drop my price. Because she preferred to do business with me, but she had got quoted for somebody else for less. Definitely didn’t, but as a person that hasn’t received any clients yet. I do wonder if I charged too much. For this particular project, I am confident that I didn’t. It was a countertop replacement and she wanted to overhang. She wanted to only pay about 1500 for labor and materials plus you wanted those stone to be fabricated. But, sometimes I do question myself

Currently Running Fb adds haven’t got any leads yet. It’s almost been a month Working on being out at more events and networking. Just ordered a few shirts I can wear to market and business cards. I reached out property management companies and no response. Call/Sent Emails and Follow ups nothing on that front. Not sure if my approach is wrong or I should change something.
