Hello everyone, so happy to be in The Game among such brilliant minds! I'm passionate about art, creativity, chocolate & connection(at a very human level). Love the online game and I'm here to stay. When it comes to networking I'm actually the Sloth, I take a while to get back to DM's and e-mails but by the time I do get back, I do it with intention and heart 🧡 HOW ABOUT YOURSELF: If your networking style was an animal, which one would you be and why (maybe drop a Gif to illustrate?)

I called with @Lukas Schmidt and in that call he: connected me with people that can guide me in the right direction, organized my ideas and thinking, and talked me through my current obstacles. I called with @Sam Rathling and she gave me monetization and offer ideas, encouraged me through relating her own experiences, and literally gave me full business mentorship on the spot! More on that to come... but this is a post to express my appreciation for that and share how they helped me move through confusion and doubt, because I feel like that's been one of the main obstacles for me throughout the networking and discovery calls. I'd say self-confidence, especially while speaking, is the main skill I've been honing in on this week. Now I worry much less and just commit to the best words I can come up with so that I can be forward-moving and helpful overall to whoever I'm connecting with. There are obviously lots of other qualities, listening often being the most important one, but I'd love to know if there's a particular skill/strength you've been building lately this week! 👇

All of us our building something here, even if some are still gathering clarity on what it is exactly, and along the way we have little battles to face. With me this morning for example, I called with Lukas and confessed I have been having doubts and insecurities when networking with people. I felt like I wasn’t being “helpful” or a good use of the other person’s time, and he listened (and gave clear and concise guidance) 🧘‍♂️ But that’s actually the game, that’s where it’s fun. My role in the game is to keep showing up and upgrading my character, and enjoy life celebrating the growth. I am glad to be in this community where we can focus on the play involved with the projects we’re building, because the people are what make up the game and give it purpose. I even resonate with simply being steve from minecraft as a kid because you enter a world from scratch and make it work and build stuff with your friends.

I have been networking since I was age 5. My Dad was a bank manager and we moved around a lot! When you are the new kid in school over and over, you learn very quickly how to turn strangers into friends. So I learnt fast! Six schools later, and by the age of 18, I found myself easily able to do this (embarrassing early school pics attached!). From my perspective, 'The Game' in its simplest form is simply about turning strangers into friends. I've been networking in business for over 20 years. When I first met @Lukas Schmidt it was like finding the mirror of me. He has a deep understanding of community, relationships, and connections. So I am grateful to be here, in this community, and to have already learned so much from him. I am sure that many of you have already formed great friendships with people here on Skool who were once complete strangers, with an online profile. The truth is, I was pretty lonely before I found Skool at the end of August this year. Sure, I know a LOT of people. I am very well connected, but true friends? Not so many by choice. I have some close friends, but a few completely disappeared when I was diagnosed with breast cancer in October 2023. I found myself having to hibernate away from the world to avoid getting sick, with a compromised immune system. What used to be my playground (a room full of people networking) gave me anxiety, and I fell out of love with the one thing I used to adore. It's only now that I am finally rediscovering networking, as I emerge from my health cocoon. Skool has reignited my passion for building relationships. I've met some amazing humans here. What I have experienced is that the best relationships are formed by helping and giving to others. So with that in mind, I thought I would put together a few ways in which I have been able to give and support others over the years; they may help you too...
