Hi all! I am Virginia Dickenson / Xenon Darrow. I worked as a learning and development consultant for over 32, and have been in the field for nearly 40. I had to shut down my business in 2017. I currently work for a major medical school in the School of Nursing as an instructional designer. I assist faculty with their online course management, instructional design coaching, research and writing coaching and collaboration, gamification projects, and AI projects. All of my doctoral work is in education, with a broad spectrum. All in all, I get to do some pretty cool stuff, aside from the grind. I got into the virtual world while I was still in business, creating videos and stories using avatars and virtual world settings for industrial training courses and higher ed. Now, I develop gamified content and stories for health professional students. I am perpetually working on revamping my previous signature course on instructional systems design, including a 3D virtual world region that is an adventure / journey into the world of instructional design. I would love to be in business for myself again, and I look forward to being inspired and learning more! I have included an image of an architectural project that I worked on for friend. My avatar now lives there in the virtual world. It was designed from actual photographs of real buildings and lovingly created by a good friend. You can walk through it, hear sounds, enter the buildings, etc. Like I said, I get to do some cool stuffs.
