Summer Hydration Station: How to Drink More Water (Without Thinking!)
🌞 𝗕𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗹𝘂𝗺𝗽—𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗦𝗶𝗽 𝗮𝘁 𝗮 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲 Raise your hand if you’ve ever: ✅ Forgotten to drink water until 3 PM (and then chugged a gallon like a camel). ✅ Replaced water with iced coffee, lemonade, or anything with caffeine. ✅ Felt sluggish, bloated, or just meh in the summer heat. 𝗬𝗼𝘂’𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗲! Even wellness pros (hi, it’s me!) need a 𝗵𝘆𝗱𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝘁 this time of year. The good news? Y𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿—𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮 𝗳𝗲𝘄 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝗯𝗶𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗰𝗸𝘀. 💧 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗛𝘆𝗱𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 🔹 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗜𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀: - 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 (dehydration = fatigue!). - 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (bye-bye, bloating!). - 𝗞𝗲𝗲𝗽𝘀 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗻 𝗴𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 (hello, summer radiance!). - 𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗽𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗿𝘂𝘀𝗵 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗴𝗼𝗮𝗹𝘀 (hydrated brain = better focus!). 🔹 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺: Most of us wait until we’re thirsty to drink water—but by then, you’re already 𝗱𝗲𝗵𝘆𝗱𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱! 🔹 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Stack hydration onto habits you already do (no extra time required!). Here’s how: 1. 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝘀𝘁: "After I pour my coffee, I’ll drink 8 oz of water with lemon." (Bonus: Add electrolytes for an extra boost!) 2. 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗪𝗶𝗻: "After I check my email, I’ll take 3 sips of water." (Small but mighty!) 3. 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘁-𝗟𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵 𝗣𝗶𝗰𝗸-𝗠𝗲-𝗨𝗽: "After I eat lunch, I’ll drink a full glass of water." (No more post-lunch slumps!) 4. 𝗡𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗥𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹: "After I brush my teeth at night, I’ll drink 8 oz of water." (Wake up refreshed!) 💡 𝗣𝗿𝗼 𝗧𝗶𝗽: Set a 𝗽𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 for every 2 hours (e.g., "Time to hydrate, superstar!"). Or try a 𝗳𝘂𝗻 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗯𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 with time markers (like this one: https://www.snarkytea.com/collections/drinkware/products/dream-big-sip-bigger-32oz-bottle. Type SNARKY is you want a coupon code and I am not an affiliate of this company. Just love their Snarky teas! 🎉 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗧𝘂𝗿𝗻! - Which 𝗵𝘆𝗱𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗰𝗸 will you try first? - What’s your go-to infused 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗯𝗼? (Mine: cucumber + mint + lime!) - Comment "𝗛𝗬𝗗𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗘" below for my free "Summer Hydration Cheat Sheet" (first 11 commenters get it!).

@Jane Lawson Hi Jane, the school we attended for aromatherapy always had us error on the side of caution with all citrus oils. But I did recently complete an oils Safety course with the Tisserand Institute. This is what I got out of the materials provided during the class. 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗲'𝘀 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗴𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀, 𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗶𝗹 (𝗖𝗶𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘀) 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗽𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼𝘁𝗼𝘅𝗶𝗰 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱. 𝗛𝗼𝘄𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿, 𝗶𝗳 𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗱 (𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗱-𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗱), 𝗶𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗳𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗼𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗻, 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼𝘁𝗼𝘅𝗶𝗰 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝘀. Here’s the breakdown from the documents: 1. Expressed citrus oils (like sweet orange oil) are often phototoxic because they retain furanocoumarins. 2. Distilled citrus oils (including sweet orange oil) are not phototoxic because the distillation process removes these compounds. 3. Bergapten-free (FCF) versions of expressed citrus oils are also considered non-phototoxic. So, if you're using distilled sweet orange oil, it is safe from a phototoxicity standpoint. If you're using expressed sweet orange oil, it could pose a phototoxicity risk, especially if applied to the skin and then exposed to UV light. @Kimberly Armatys
