Celebrating an Audiobook Win 🙌
🎉 Big audiobook news! The other day I received an email from ACX letting me know that one of my audiobooks was selected for the August Monthly Deal! That means Audible is featuring it at a discounted price throughout the month. I'm especially excited because this isn't my first time being selected. The last time one of my audiobooks was included in a Monthly Deal, I saw a noticeable increase in downloads, which translated into additional Audible royalty income. It's always fun to see one of your backlist titles get a fresh wave of visibility. One thing to know is that this isn't something you can apply for. ACX/Audible selects the titles they want to feature, and while they don't publicly share the exact criteria, being an established, professionally produced audiobook with strong listener appeal and solid performance can help put your title in the running. Ultimately, the editorial team makes the final selections. Moments like this are a great reminder that publishing isn't always about launching something brand new. Sometimes a book you've already created gets a second chance to reach new listeners and generate additional income months—or even years—after publication. 🎧 Question for my fellow authors: - Do you currently have an audiobook on Audible? - Have you ever had one of your titles selected for an ACX/Audible Monthly Deal? I'd love to hear what kind of results you saw!

❤️ Family Comes First
👋 Hey everyone, I wanted to give you a quick update in case you notice I'm a little quieter than usual this week. Last night I spent about six hours in the ER with my son after he started having asthma-related breathing issues. We're heading back to the doctor today for a follow-up, and right now my main focus is helping him rest and get back to feeling like himself. It breaks my heart that he got sick so soon after celebrating his birthday. Because of that, responses to messages, video reviews, and a few other community tasks may be delayed by a day or so. I appreciate your patience and understanding while I put my family first for the moment. I'm hoping today's appointment brings us some reassuring news and that he's on the road to a quick recovery. Thank you all for your kindness and support. It truly means a lot. ❤️

⭐ Book Reviews Made Easy 101
Is your book struggling because it doesn't have many reviews? Reviews are one of the biggest trust signals for potential buyers. When readers see social proof, they're much more likely to click "Buy Now." More reviews can lead to better conversion rates, which can ultimately mean more sales. During my call today with @Delis Guzman , we spent quite a bit of time talking about review strategies, and it reminded me of a tactic I haven't shared here in a while. 👉Instead of waiting until the very end of your book to ask for a review, consider placing a small, unobtrusive call-to-action inside the book—around Chapter 3 or 4. Why? Because not everyone finishes a book. (I'm guilty of that myself. 😅) If a reader has already received value from your content, they're much more likely to leave a review right then than if they have to remember after reaching the last page. 💡 Here's what I recommend: - Keep the CTA small so it doesn't interrupt the reading experience. - Place it naturally between sections or chapters. - Include a QR code that takes readers directly to your Amazon review page. - Thank them for their support and keep the message short. The goal isn't to distract from your content—it's to make leaving a review as effortless as possible. If you need a QR code, Jeff over in Bio Builders gives them away like candy. 😄 And if you're looking for another way to build reviews, check out Book Village. It's a great platform for connecting with readers and generating additional reviews for your books. Question for you: Where do you currently ask for reviews—in the front of your book, the back, or not at all? 📚👇
