@Lynn Smargis thank you Lynn! Already on it 😉
Krista is Amazing
I just wanted to take a second and say that @Krista Brea is amazing! What she's built here, her genuine care for her community members and authors, and all while being a mom!! I have too many communities already to start another one, but I wouldn't anyway because this one is everything you need!

Intimidated by the process
Hey there, I feel stuck and wondered if there such a thing as writing a shorter book as a first timer? Ironically because most people who struggle with anger need the SOLUTION not theory. Feedback is welcomed!

@Michelle Farris I highly recommend just making an easy book and getting it published. Do it under a pen name. Sooo many people never get started because they're intimidated by the process, things that, once you get through it, even if it's a lot, you still look back and think, "Well, that wasn't that hard." So do a practice book! With AI, you can make a decent-looking cover, you can make a decent-looking book, and you can just get a repetition, a practice, at going through the whole process from beginning to end and learning all the lessons and only spending your time, not your money. My first books were word search books, and they were really bad, haha. But I made two or three of them, and I learned the process, which became much less intimidating each time. You can do it!

I like to be transparent about my earnings because I want you to see that creating an additional income stream is possible—even if you have a busy life. I still work a full-time job. I'm also a mom to a young child, and like many of you, I have a lot competing for my time. That's why I love self-publishing. Once a book is created, it can continue working for you long after you've finished writing it. 📚 Paperback & Ebook Results - Lifetime Royalties: $68,057.75 🎧 Audiobook Results - Audible doesn't make it easy to calculate lifetime earnings because I'd have to download and total every royalty statement individually. However, based on my historical average royalty earnings per sale under the previous royalty model, I've had nearly 17,000 audiobook sales/downloads, which puts my estimated audiobook royalties at roughly $60,000+. 💵 Combined Estimated Lifetime Earnings - Books (Paperback + Ebook): $68,057 - Audiobooks (Estimated): $60,000+ - Total: Over $128,000 in approximately 3 years Is that enough to replace my day job today? No. But has it helped create more financial freedom, additional income, and opportunities that wouldn't have existed otherwise? Absolutely. The biggest mistake I see people make is waiting for the "perfect" time to start. Every month you delay publishing is another month your future books aren't out there working for you. Imagine where you could be 1 year from now if you started today. What Book Earnings Milestone (PER MONTH) Do You Want to Hit?

@Lisa Z my books are chapter books with 10 as the target age. At launch I keep the price at 9.99 for awhile to try to drive more sales and get reviews. After a few weeks I raise it to 12.99 or 13.99.
Proof That Books Can Keep Paying You
I want to be transparent with you all. I’m not out here making millions from books. I’m just an average person on the internet with a full-time job, a busy schedule, and I’m also a mom to a 4-year-old on the spectrum. Life is full. ❤️ Since shifting a lot of my focus toward building this Skool community, that has been taking up most of my extra time outside of work and family. Because of that, I actually haven’t published a new book in over 6 months. But here’s what I think is pretty cool… the books I already published are still working for me. So far this year: 📚 Paperbacks + eBooks: $8,379+ 🎧 Audiobooks: ~$9,000+ 💰 Total: Over $17,000 in royalties this year That’s why I love publishing. You put in work upfront, create something that can help people, and over time those books can continue bringing in income while you focus on other areas of life. For the second half of this year, I’m planning to shift more energy back into publishing because it’s still my strongest income stream. I’m sharing this because I hope it encourages you. Even if you already have a full plate, you don’t need to wait for the “perfect” time to start. Your words, your experiences, and your knowledge can become assets that continue working for you long after you hit publish. ❤️ If you've already published, drop below: How has your experience been so far? 👇
