@Kirsten Jooste thanks! It was low key, but yes, I did!
ATC #2
Just worked up a second ATC. This one was playing around with developing a sea surface without using a reference image. Pleased with how it turned out for spending about an hour on it!

Black Cards
Just cut some black ATC cards on my Cricut machine. Can’t wait to experiment with white marker on them ☺️

Oh that’s a great idea for making your own! I’d have to do mine by hand, which I just don’t have the patience for 😂 The black background will make for some really striking cards- looking forward to seeing what you do with them!!

@Kirsten Jooste I really like the rounded corners. Wish the cards I got had that feature. Color against the black could really pop! So much potential with this approach - love it
ATC #1!
Finally made a first attempt at an ATC. It was super fun to make something small and quick. Have no idea what kind of subject matter I’ll come up with for more, but I got myself two packs of smooth Bristol ATC cards, so now I have to use them somehow! It is definitely a fun way to practice and experiment, and be a little “looser” than I normally might. This was done out of my head without a reference, which is something I am trying to get a little more comfortable with, since I would (long term) like to be able to use references as guides to making a wholly unique perspective on a boat, rather than being dependent on reproducing a given angle/pov from a reference image. So all that to say that this ATC idea is a way to push my comfort zone with lower stakes since it’s a smaller piece of paper and much less time consuming than my typical drawings. Thanks so much @Kirsten Jooste for sharing this idea! I’d honestly never heard of ATC’s before this group, and was honestly surprised it was a bigger “thing” in the art world and not a cool idea this group came up with! 😂😂

@Kirsten Jooste I’m not too hung up on a unifying theme, so much as picking anything at all to try at this scale! I have a couple ideas bouncing around though :) I got the blank cards from Amazon; I forget what I was searching but they came up in the results- Strathmore Smooth Bristol Artist Trading cards. They come in a 20 pack. And, I totally agree about it being a great way to do some drawing without it being a huge commitment.
Completed: Zentangle Wolf
Finally put the finishing touches on it throughout this week, and I am happy with the end result ☺️ Maybe it could accompany the Owl I did last year, which is hanging on the wall in our home ✨

Looks great! It’s really pleasing line art - and accompanies the owl perfectly!
